Well deadline day drama and a move I thought was purely speculation has come off, much to my surprise. And as a Tottenham fan slightly to my disappointment.

Whilst Keane was a great player during his previous spell, and someone who seemed as committed as anyone to the club and fans it was disheartening when he publicly expressed his desire to play for Liverpool as a club over Tottenham. He was one of the few players I thought actually had loyalty to the club after a 6 year stint however proved disloyal when saying he wanted to leave.

I am not sure what the fee was but I will be very frustrated if we made a loss on the saga, and as far as my liking of Keane goes he has a lot of work to do to win back my admiration and respect. The whole Defoe return pleased me as he openly said at the time he didn't want to leave the club and therefore he can come straight back into my good books- however Keane in my opinion was traitorous (whether more so than any other football these days I don't know!) and as such I am no more pleased than disappointed at his return.

Let's hope his performances win back my affection :D

At least I'm not the only one Jon! Do you think it will be a common feeling amongst Spurs fans in general? Certainly those I have spoken to are somewhat frustrated with both the board and Keane himself- although maybe not to the same extent as you seem to be!

A lot of yids cant wait to kiss his pikey backside, they are in the majority.

Will be interesting to see what is said in the pin next week.

We nearly lost Bent today, he was all set for a medical at blackburn, deal had been agreed and all set but then city didnt come thru on santa-cruz so the bent deal was off.

Sold for £20m,Bought back for £15m. Liverpool effectively paid us £5m for a 6 month loan.

I was gutted when he left & i'm glad to have him back. No such thing as loyalty these days in football and,to be honest,he left to play a "higher" level of football in the Champions League. Who can begrudge him that? At least he has come out & said it was the wrong move for him.

Over 100 goals in his last 6 years with us. More of the same please.

GREAT...best news I've heard in ages.

Quite why Rafa bought him is a mystery.....anyway....he's gone now and LFC get most of their money back!!!

Everyone wins.....except Spurs.....

I never saw him play for Spurs, other than the odd highlight but if he's any good at all (which he doesn't appear to be i.m.o.) I hope Spurs can do something with him.

Don't think it's a case of kissing his jaxie,Jon. In the predicament we're in,we need goals mate, especially with Defoe being out for the forseeable.

Keane will score goals. We're a better squad with him than without. That's all that matters surely?

He aint the player we needed, we needed a lump like heskey or jones but because levy is such a tool, no-one wants to deal with him.

All he wants to do is installment deals and p/x deals, he is buying players not a sofa from dfs or a used car.

He is universally hated amongst the other clubs chairmen and thats why so many targets like upson, hunt, jones, green and bellamy were not signed, because other clubs dont want to deal with that parasite.

I don't think Rafa did....more like Parry and the conversation went along the lines of:

RB: Rick - can I have £30m to buy David Villa please as he's the last piece of the jigsaw and the only bloke I want

PP: No

RB: OK thanks I'll stick with what I've got then

PP: Well we've got to spend some money or make my position seem worthwhile to these stoopid yanks so I'll go and find someone - if you don't like him then tough what you gonna do?

RB: Thanks again Rick, I'll work something out

Ive been an LFC supporter all of my conscious life and I have to say that the initial purchase of Keane was too expensive and narrow minded, We need forward moving players who can spread the ball about like Gerrard but are in the position to get in closer, keane didnt fit the bill. What I find even more puzzling is that Spurs took him back (albeit at a bargain 12million plus a few bolt ons.)
I can totally see why MWJ is more than a little disgusted by this, if you have 12 million to spend, mr keane is not even on the top 40 hitlist.

I didn't realise that LFC "lost" out £5m in the deal. I thought LFC had agreed to pay c.£20m, but most of it had been upaid, and after settling the accounts, the buy-back was costing LFC around £1m....but if it's £5m, I agree!!!

Aparently Mr Keane is the 5th most expensive player in the history of the game.

His transfers have totalled in the region of £68 million!!

Unbelievable...................

Sir Alex must laughing his b**** off! Liverpool now only have Torres to score for them. And if he gets injured? United are certainties for the league but will lose to Barcelona in the Champions' League Final. At least, I think so.

Of course.....

None of these lot can score goals????

Andriy Voronin
Albert Riera
Fabio Aurelio
Xabi Alonso
Yossi Benayoun
Jermaine Pennant
Alvaro Arbeloa
Dirk Kuyt
Ryan Babel
Javier Mascherano

Alex F doens't need to laugh at Liverpools expense....he has the better team and clearly, given LFC's addiction to crappy draws.....MUFC will win the championship.

Getting rid of Keane makes no difference, other than returning him to a club where he played well. On the few outings for Liverpool he was a waste of money.

I was disgusted with Keane for the way he dropped Spurs like a toy he no longer wanted to play with. Levy, as much as I think he is the source of the cancer in THFC, had to do the right thing and sting LFC for as much as possible, which he did.

If you have been to the Lane and watched the many games Keane has played in and you know your football, your levels of frustration with him will always be higher than the level of joy. It is an odd scenario, that he scores a decent amount of goals, but still drives you crazy with his poor runs, his inability to score 1-on-1, the way he runs behind a central defenders when a long ball is played up to him and the way he waves his arms around.

I will be there on Sunday, as usual, if he scores against the scum, of course I will cheer. But I go there with a certain sadness at what the club has done.
