How about a feel good thread.
Mentioned on the BMW thread, but what a fantastic achievement for him to reach World No1, not everbodies cup of tea, but great to see him get there.
Well done Justin, superb.

How can you not love Justin Rose? What a man. World number 1, Major winner, Olympic gold medallist, he's done it all. Has done it after starting with 21 missed cuts as well. Incredible turn-around.

It's weird how the rankings work that you can become world number 1 without winning, but still really pleasing to see. He has been great for the last year. Maybe a little confidence booster going into the Ryder Cup with the World Number 1 in our ranks.

He has won this year (Fort Worth iirc), he's also had 9 other top 10 finishes, the last 2 being 2nd place finishes (with only 1 missed cut).
He's basically been the most consistent performer for some time now, hence the ranking improvement

Oh yeah, I'm aware, I just meant without winning this tournament. It wasn't meant as a dig, quite the opposite, it shows how ridiculously consistent he has been with the top ten finishes.

Fantastic achievement and an all round decent guy. Enjoyed the room North Hants set aside to celebrate Rose's achievements. Superb effort especially when you remember the start to the pro ranks he had. His dad would have been so proud

In between all the media concentration on Woods winning The Tour Championship it’s a shame that the achievements of Rose is being what it looks like totally forgotten.

Rose this season has been outstanding and to win the big one at the end of the season should be rightly celebrated

Personally I'm absolutely delighted for Justin Rose and Tiger Woods.

Imagine the feeling of being, or have been, the no 1 player in the world 😁

But it's not the BIG one apart from in terms of money and lets be honest none of those playing really need such a gratuitous pay day. The big one would be a major and while Rose has these on the CV not this year. However we should celebrate how far he's come since all those missed cuts when he turned pro, the major wins, the olympic gold and becoming world #1. He's been paar of winning Ryder Cup teams and seems a grounded family man. What's not to like
