4 wood will replace the 3 & 5 and the two wedge system from Cleveland works well for me.

My new 3 wood goes as far as driver without the hassle and I can hit my pw 90-125 so can cover the gap.
But I'm allowed 14 so carry them.

Would have to be 3 wood and 21 deg hybrid would leave a large gap between Driver and 27 deg hybrid but would mean I concentate more on course management

I change my bag frequently to suit the course being played and the underlying conditions - going down to 12 would just be an extension of this process (and it would be different clubs at different times in different places)

Probably my 3 iron and 3 wood as the 3 iron isn't used that often and my new 5 wood is long enough to give me adequate distance. I'd feel bad about the 3 wood though.
