...what two clubs would you remove?

Just hypothetically a new rule by the R&A says no more than 12 clubs to a bag, what two clubs out of you current bag would you happily lose? & Would you miss them?

For me I'd remove my 62 degree and 50 degree wedges, the 62 is pretty much dead weight in the bag at present and while I've got a good relationship with the 50, I'm finding I'm using my 46 more and getting better results.

Playing at my course, I'd lose Driver and 58 degree. I hit my 5 wood well. If I was a nomad I'd shift the 3 wood rescue and 58 degree.

I would take out my 52 wedge and my Driver. Not getting on well with my Driver at all atm, and have recently developed a decent 'go-to' shot with my 3w off the tee that travels well. Similar to you, I have much more control with my PW than my 52 and do a range of shots with it, which would cover that gap between my PW and SW!

17° hybrid would be the easy choice, then not so easy!

Probably 50° wedge, but outside chance of dropping the driver, as when I catch the 3 wood there's not much in it (at present).

Actually now that I've read the posts, my 19 degree Hybrid could potentially be removed from the bag as well, I think it may only get used once maybe twice at a push during a round at my home course.

5 wood and 52 wedge out.

I've got a 17 degree hybrid which does much the same job as the 5 wood with the only difference being the hybrid is more reliable out the rough, though the wood is better off the tee. I could choke down a 3 wood off the tee if necessary.

The 52 is handy for 100 yards-ish but again a choked down PW could do much the same.

Swap the 50 and 54 for a 52 would save one
A bit trickier for the other one but on reflection I'd probably drop the driver as I took my 3 wood a decent distance off the tee or the deck...

3 and 4 iron - which are really only there to be in the same place as the rest of the set! Pretty sure that 3, 4 and 5 all go the same distance anyway!

It really depends on the course. I'm tempted to say gap wedge since I can manufacture shots with the pitching wedge instead, but I do tend to hit the gap wedge quite often.

Hmmm... at my course I could take the driver out and not miss it greatly but it's essential for longer courses. Truthfully, for an unfamiliar course I'd find it very hard to decide what to leave out. I already regularly rotate about 16/17 clubs through my bag!
