Just how stupid can you be....

Been a long day, was on the rota for starter duties for the monthly medal so rather than playing in it arranged to play a singles match an hour after the medal had finished going off.

Got off to a flier. birdied 1,4 and 5 to be 3 under gross and 5 up through 5!!! Managed to coast from there and turned 6 up. Finally closed out the match on 14 for a 5&4 win.

As were walking in oppo asks me who I have in the next round and I reply that I never look, always 1 game at a time. Get into the clubhouse and in the lobby head to the comps board. Go to put my name through to the next round and somethings not right with the brackets on the draw sheet. Suddenly dawns on me that Ive played the wrong oppo lol. Hes supposed to play the guy above and Im supposed to play the guy below!!!!

So having not entered the medal, have wasted one of my best games on an oppo that I wasnt meant to play, been ridiculed by a very full post medal bar and now have to fit yet another ko game in before the end of the month.

As the club captain said, seems there's a village missing their idiot.

It's quite easy to misread some knockout draws, but someone usually spots it before you actually play the wrong oppo!

I can't top that, but I can run it close.

Played in a 4bbb today off 3/4. Worked out hdc allowance in my head.
Got to 3rd hole, got my par for 3 points, told my partner to pick up 4ft out (who had a shot) then got to the next tee and worked out (properly with a calculator) that I didn't have a shot, and my partner had 9 shots, did. Terrible brain fart.

We've finished with 40 points, in 5th, 41 would have put us in 3rd.
