just had a fitting and some things didnt add up!

Also, I don't know if this is true, but I've not heard great things about the vector launch monitors. They are certainly one of the cheaper launch monitors on the market, and a good club fitter should either use Flightcope or Trackman.

I watched a pro in Berkhamstead driving range fit my best mate for a Callaway FT-IQ and he gave him a stiff shaft and a 10* head (I know it was all he had left in the shop) but my mate was playing off about 25 and has a slooooooooow swing. when i questioned the pro about it he tried to tell me that "people used to think that golf clubs are all about the shaft, we now know that the shaft means nothing and its all about the head" what a crock of ****. the guy was trying to get rid of his last IQ before the 9 came out and i was disgusted!!! my mate was so exited he just went along with it. that can be the problem with small outlets.

This also applies to places like AG where I know they have tweaked the setttings on their launch monitors to add a bot of distance. I've seen a teenage kid apparently send a Yonex driver 295 yards. Again, they are prone to flogging their four main brands first irrespective of the customers handicap or ability.

i'm finding this a good thread, I need to get my daughter fitted & have been looking around on the net & did'nt know which way to go, I had tried to book for Titleist but the local pro says its a waste of money & he can do it, kept telling it was to busy etc so I gave in, now i'm looking at maybe the Belfrey as its pretty close also, can I presume they do a good job.

if your local to the Belfrey i dont think you will find a better fitting center in your neck of the woods, i would LOVE a few hrs there with there pros/fitters!!

just got the call and my new clubs are ready to pick up...

i got custom fitted at Silvermere in Surrey and can honestly say it was brilliant. they have clubs and shafts from EVERY manufacturer you can think of and consequently gave impartial advice...plus i got to hit every damn club you can name, whichwasnice

there has to be more reliable places round here except the belfry? Anyone know of anything in the north east where i can trust rather than someone who just wants a sale. Another thing that comes to mind is that he said the ping only came in 9.5 or 7 and he warned me off the 7. looked at the ping website and they dont do a 7 only a 9.5 and 8. Low and behold he only had the 9.5 in stock

look up the fitting centres on the mizuno website - the regional ones in particular.

I went to the regional one in the midlands recently and could have tried all the titleist's, all the pings and the mizuno's. £25 and this comes off any order you make. Its excellent

no commitment, it's 40 notes for the hour session but if you do order from them it's taken off the price of the clubs.

hit my new mizuno mp52's last night and tehy're soooooo nice, proper length, proper grip etc. am going to have to club down for all my shots, hitting my new 7 as far as old 6 and so on through the set...oh what a difference a day makes

There are a few expert fitters dotted around the SE of England.

The best known of these is Precision Golf, based near Egham, but Chilli Dip Golf, at Caversham Heath Golf Club, and Golf Principles in Basingstoke are also excellent. All will charge for the fitting, but it will be a comprehensive and expert one. Precision deals with a lot of very good players including Tour pros, so they know the needs of fast swinging players well.

Bet my swing speed will still be a challenge for them :o
