had a custom fit with my pro today and i have to say i wasnt as impressed as i thought id be..

The clubs were titliest AP1 712, i needed 1 inch longer and 3 degrees upright with a dynamic s300 shaft. He marked the bottom of the club to see what lie angle i needed. I hit a load of balls with the 6 iron and i didnt feel there was much difference from my standard set i have. Yes the ball flight was not as high which is better but overall it wasnt what i was expecting.

Being 6ft 6 he said there will be huge difference but i just didnt feel there was!!

The price £499 all in thats with jumbo grips too 4 - pw

Unless you were playing with a set of ropes, you shouldnt feel much difference. Perhaps you were expecting more from the whole experience but the end results should show you being more confident once you have had a chance to get them onto the course and be able to hit them more consistently than your old clubs.

well i just feel im hitting my clubs well at the min but like i say, being so tall people i have spoken to said there would be a huge difference having the custom fitted clubs.

I just wasnt as impressed as i thought i would be!!

Did it include a launch monitor/Trackman? Did you get launch angle and spin rate?

If it didn't then I'd say you've not had the full Monty. I went for a custom fit last year that included the above. 3 of the sets of irons felt very similar, and knocking the ball 170+yds it was difficult to tell which was the best. The stats for spin rate and optimum launch angle helped with the final decision.

Maybe i should try somewhere that has a wider variety of clubs
