I played at our place on Wednesday afternoon and spotted a golfer on the adjoining fairway and he was ....... wearing braces!

Looked over a minute or two later and the guy he was playing with was also ....... wearing braces!

Never seen a pair of braces on the course before let alone a brace of braces. Sartorial elegance or the Beverley Hillbillies ??

Are you sure that the collective noun for two pairs of braces is a brace, I think it might be something like a confusion of braces. Anyway it was clearly two (or a brace) of city boys pulling a sickie.
