Went back to the gym a couple of weeks ago working on core strength and overall fitness, haven't hit a ball since I started until today and by golly its quite impressive, there is a fixed light at one of our local ranges that I usually use to mark my 7 iron distance and have struggled to hit it in the past but today I was 10 - 15 yards past it and driving was a pleasure with increased distance and as a bonus a lovely little draw, I also took over a 3 wood and was managing to hit from the true strike mat with ease and no fade, overall all clubs were again 10 - 15 yards longer so maybe this time I will stick with it this time as it definitely is working.

temp is up 15 degrees since 2 weeks ago:smirk:

This is true so I'm looking forward to my next lesson in a weeks time so I can see if the Trackman stats are any different from the previous weeks which were all fairly constant at around 145-148 yards with 7 iron.

Body weight twinned with kettle bell exercise, very gruelling but I feel great and I throw in a lot of cardio as well.

Good stuff. I know there was talk recently about not having to be fit for golf but it can have a positive effect as you show.

While I agree with what is said- you don't have to be super fit for golf, I can see how exercises such as kettlebell swings would help with training the body to work together and in turn rythm and timing. Also, there is something to be said about just feeling stronger and more athletic.

I'm not sure a couple of weeks would be enough to see 15 yards of difference, warm weather and better technique would however. Are you sure its not your lessons?
