Hi all,

Is there such a thing as a forgiving wedge. Clearly wedges are forgiving in the very nature of the fact that they have so much loft. Wedges are so common these days that the OEMs tend not to make sand wedges that match there iron sets. Mizuno have the JPX Wedges but I can see no where that they claim that they are more forgiving.

If I am hitting a gap wedge its is highly likely that I will be giving it a full shot over say 95 years so why must it be a blade type club?

Any thoughts? This is more an interest thing than anything as I have been reading alot about MPF the last few days.

Thanks

Alex

I know what you mean. When I brought my R7 Irons they had a SW that had a mahoosive cavity and sole.

I would say the reason "most" wedges come in a bladed form is down to the length of the club and the amount of loft on the club head.

Hmm.

There's not exactly a bundle of forgiving features in my wedges.

I could conceivably put my X-18 SW in the bag instead of a Vokey, but if things are that bad, why am I trying to play golf at all.

I discovered my X-18 PW is now lost (m.i.a. on my own course) but I looked at some unused/unwanted Callys and Pings at the range yesterday and they are just awful clubs. Might be forgiving on full shots, but hardly designed for playability around the greens.

??

Yep, I guess that would be the trade off.

In fairness, the X-18 SW is good out of sand....

if you're in America. :)

I want to sell on my X-18s but without a wedge, it could be difficult.

Maybe I could sneak in a car-boot wedge?

We've all forgotten the Momentus Short Game Wizard

There used to be an advert on Sky for this which always made me chuckle.

The Short Game Wizard wedges will have you easily hitting phenomenal shots out of the bunker, the deep rough, off of a tight lie or from out in the fairway. Incredible shots you may never have hit before with the wedges you're currently using. You'll have the soft touch, feel and control you need to get the ball up and down from around the green. You'll face any shot from any lie with superior confidence.

Ok I am getting the picture now... there are options but if you need to use the options your better off dead.
