As the title is Fleetwood Mac's rumours one of the best albums of all time? I'm 50 and I have lived for my music all of my adult life but every time I put this album on the turntable or indeed the cd player I am blown away by it. I believe if it was released fresh now without anyone hearing it before it would still sell 50 million copies. I think everyone can relate to at least one of the songs on there when it comes to relationships and life. Superb song writing and musicianship.

I agree although having seen it in HMV repackaged again as a 3 disc pack it does beg the question how long can you revamp the product. Dark Side, Thriller, Bat out of hell and other seminal albums don't seem to come out as often. That said it is a glorious piece of music. Songbird in particular always gets the hairs on my neck standing up

Not a bad album but wouldn't make my top 50 I'm afraid - unlike Bat out of Hell which wouldn't make the top 250

Off topic! let's get back to Rumours I 'm not bothered about the top 50 or 1000. Is Rumours one of the all time albums of all time?

its not too shabby, when was it... must have been re-released 1990 ish (off to check) as I had it on tape when I was in Germany 1990-1992

oooh 1977 so must have just fancied it at the time! I do know I played it to death though

To answer the original question, yes it is; if you can get Sky Arts, look for the Classic Albums programme, I think that's one of the ones featured, fascinating insight. Other best albums for me:

Studio;
The Who - Who's Next (definitely on Classic Albums)
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon (ditto - love the bit about The Great Gig In The Sky)
The Eagles - Hotel California
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms/Making Movies/Love Over Gold
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Bruce Springsteen - Darkness On The Edge Of Town/Born To Run
Del Amitri - Change Everything
Bon Jovi - These Days

Live;
The Who - Live at Leeds
Thin Lizzy - Live & Dangerous
Dire Straits - Alchemy
Lynyrd Skynyrd - One More From The Road

Fleetwood Mac, went off in the 70s, their best stuff was when Peter Green was in the band.

Best album ever, Love - Forever Changes.
