With the end of the year being the last date for a wedge with the old grooves do you think we will get better bargains on a new wedge set at Christmas as after that they are only good to retailers for the skip, or do you not think it will matter and they will hold their prices?

Whay are they only good for the skip??

They won't be able to get anymore in but they can still be sold to us duffers can't they?? That's how I've understood it anyway. :D

I may be wrong then, I thought they couldn't sell them after 2010.

They will stop manufacture in 2010 and the retailers can still sell in 2011 until they run out. They can still be used by the general playing public until 2024.

Pretty much as above, just that any elite amateur stuff (any county stuff normally follows suit straight away) will need to use the new grooves from 2014.

I read somewhere that they stopped manufacture in 2009 and they can only sell box grooves till the end of the year.

It could go two ways either all the good wedges will get snapped up well before and the only place you could buy the old wedges would be from ebay at a high price or stores will sell them for next to nothing.

But i have also read what Chrimo was saying so me a little confused
