Iron lofts

You know what Homer, you may well be right. I have actually had 22 & 16 deg hybrids in my bag the last two years but just recently swapped my long irons back in. I'm really not fully convinced what I am happiest with. I've always been able to hit the 3 & 4 irons pretty well and I like the way I hit them. I understand what the hybrid offers me but since taking them out I've cut 1.3 off my handicap (not at all related to not having the hybrids I know) and am pretty happy with my club choice. I may well go back to the hybrids when the greens firm up as I get a higher flight and softer landing but who knows. This is probably the only part of my game at the moment that I am not totally settled on.

Too many damn choices, that's the problem :)

Tiger, as you say, you've been playing for eight months - why are you worried about the lofts of your wedges???

Correct me if I'm wrong but you've not even got a handicap yet.

I've been playing since I was four - I consider myself to be a more than competant golfer and the only thing that I try to achieve is hitting the damn ball straight. The lofts on the clubs take care of themselves.

I'm only aware of one player who's had his wedges bent by a degree and that's Paul Casey - his swing is honed to perfection and therefore he'll know why he's doing it - do you???

I've said it before and I'll say it again - you don't need a full bag of clubs - you need one club which you'll hit until it hurts. Learn to swing the club, learn to know how to strike it cleanly, learn to know what works for you. Then, you can build the bag to suit your game.

After eight months I doubt you know what your game is.....

As AP1's are cast and not forged like AP2's most pro's will decline adjusting the loft anyway as it's much harder to do and there's a greater chance of snapping the more brittle casting at the hosel.....right Bob????

Correct. Dont take a hammer anywhere near a cast club.
Take them back to the makers and get them to do it.
They almost certainly wont move them any more than 1-2 degrees and 2-4 degrees for a forged club
