Managed to acquire an Ipod touch over the weekend for the grand sum of £0.00!!

Looking for a scorecard application (one that doesn’t need to be connected to the web as it’s only an Ipod and not an Iphone, can’t imagine getting wifi all over the course)

I'm not wanting a GPS type app, just the scorecard part.

It’s not to replace the trusty pencil and paper method, something to log the fairways hit, GIR’s and putts so I can see if I’m making any sort of improvement.

Preferably free but a couple of quid would be OK as well.

Cheers

I can't help directly, but have a similar thing on my phone (HTC Magic) used it twice on the course now and it is a right faff putting the info in.

I honestly think it would be quicker to record the info on paper.

SS2 provides a modified scorecard for such things (I beleive) and sure it wouldn't be too difficult to knock something up yourself before a round?

Was planning on doing it on the score card then inputing it on to the Ipod later - hoping it'd do some sort of graph or something fancy to show my improvement or more likely buy how much i've got worse!!! :(

Not sure of any, but where did you get for free? Anymore going? :)

Not had any golf ones for free but there are quite a few going when i had an initial look.

Theres quite a few games and sorts free, mostly the 'lite' versions in hope you'll buy the full version later but i don't play enough games to worry about the 9000th level not being free!!! :D

I use the SC2 scorecard and just fill it in on m way to each tee along with the main scorecard. It takes literally seconds to record the information and much easier than mucking around with a mobile all the time

I've tried a number on my iPhone. Not sure which ones will work on the ipod.

My main one is Teeshot Live - Does all you need, but has a whole load of other features.

Others to have a look at

Plum Caddy
Caddy Lite
Caddy
FreeCaddie
iYardage

Have a search on itunes, most will have a lite version that will probably do what you want.

SC is Sky caddy for my money the best GPS device on the market purely becaue they actually go on site and measure all the yardages and so its very, very accurate and as up to date as possible. If your course makes alterations they will come back and map in the changes whereas those systems relying on satellite information may be out of date if files haven't been updated.

SS2 is a software package that allows you to keep details on eight key elelments of your game and is an invaluable asset (in my opinion) to seeign where your weak pointts are and what needs improving. You can download a months free trial and if you contact form member SS2 by private message, he'll give you a small discount if you decide to buy. Its only about £0 and is the most comprehensive system of its type out there. Its proved invaluable for me and my coach and has helped us decide exactly what we need to wrok on during each lesson
