Looking to upgrade my iphone 3G but not happy to blindly go to the Iphone 4 especially as I am still annoyed iphone still won't support flash. Like the apps but what is the best alternative?

HTC Desire. My wife has the Iphone 4 and I have the HTC and thinkthat I got the better of the 2. Only way in which the Iphone is better is the ease of transfering music which requires drag and drop on the HTC. Main plus for me, phone was free and no expensive Iphone contract.

Ive got a sony ericsson xperia. Really good, prefer it to the wife's iphone 4 to be honest.

Htc are meant to be sh#t hot though.

I have to agree with GB72 - got the HTC Desire myself just last week and am very impressed so far. It was between the iPhone 4 and Desire for me but I opted for the latter as it seemed to offer the same sort of functionality for a lot less money.

Also, if you like games, Angry Birds is free to download :) I'd not played it before but boy is it addictive...I think I've spent more time playing that than my beloved xbox since I got it :o :D

Ill be getting a Samsung Galaxy S soon. Sure it has flash player, has an HD camera to shoot videos at 720p 30fps(perfect for recording the golf swing :).

I agree that the Galaxy S is a good phone. I found it a little large to be comfortable and I prefered the operating system on the HTC. The Samsung apps store was also not quite so good as the android marketplace.

Wait until the end of March\April when there will be a few new Android handsets hitting the market.

Ones to watch out for are the LG Optimus 2x and the Samsung Galaxy S2. Dual core is the way forward for phones now. Don't bother with an iPhone 4, the new one will be out in the summer.

I'm in the same, need to upgrade my 3g and will probably switch to Android, or wait to see what the iPhone 5 holds.

I have the HTC Hero (predecessor to the Desire) and although a little sluggish, I love it and I understand the Desire is everything the Hero was and much, much more.

I'd definitely go for the Desire.

The iPhone 4 is a great device and I have had no signal issues with it. It is still the top rated smartphone in Stuff Magazine, although they like the HTC Desire HD too.

I love my iphone 4.
I normally get bored with mobile phones but I've had the 3G and now a year into the iPhone 4.
I can't complain. Signal problems don't seem to be an issue anymore and the speed and clarity and easiness to use is a winner for me.

I have heard the HTC is good but I wont be changing away from the IPhone anytime soon.
