I would really like an app which keeps a log of all my rounds, and works out my stableford score. As I dont work out the stableford on the way round, when presented with three score cards from my fellow players at the end of the round and whilst trying to balance a pint, scorecards, and a club sandwich, its just too much lol. Any good apps out there that can do it for me?

My advice is learn to score and write it on the card as you play, if not you will find it hinders your game

You must be able to know when you get an extra shot etc based on the hole SI etc this can make a big difference to how you play the hole.

After a while it becomes second nature, make a little pencil mark on your card on the holes where you get extra shots as a prompt

And when playing always ask your playing partners to confirm as you write it down

Good luck

Golfshot is a great app

Does what your looking for and can add your partners scores in too

Although might be easier just to mark the card as you would be snookered if your phone battery died half way round and you hadn't marked down any scores seperately

What is your handicap?

You should definitely learn to write it all on your card, otherwise you'll get out of the habit of doing so. But if you want an app to keep track of scores and see all your stats, I would back up Mugs and say that 'Golfshot' is really good and would highly recommend it.

So you guys fill out the score card with the stableford score on each hole, rather than working it out at the end of the round. Obvious really. My handicap is 26, and I think I know how to score stableford, (2 points for par after handicap adjustment etc), but as i play in a three ball, and we all keep all the totals, then I get the task of working out the stableford scores in the club house. Obvious thing is to get each player to score their own stableford score at each hole isn't it?

when you swap cards on the 1st tee mark your own score in the markers column. double check your score tally's up with your card markers score at the end and vice versa

I was pants at 1st but it gets easier each time you do it

It's so much easier to fill in the card as you go round that I wouldn't think a phone app could be quicker or easier. I would normally check the person who's card I'm marking and they normally say " 4 or 2" or whatever, unless I play with Oddsocks, then it's "I parred the second ball"

this is the second post i have read to-day asking about how to score,am i wrong or is being able to mark a card a priority if playing golf,i always do the following, fill in my h/cap,then strokes received in the box provided, after handing my card to my opponent/s i then check their card,if a stableford comp i then mark the holes I receive shots on with a circle and the holes my opponent/s receive shots on with a cross,a quick glance at the card lets me know in an instance, and i always mark the card after each hole,it gets on my nerves when people ask " what did you get on the last 3 hole!!!!!!" to me marking a card correctly is fundamental to playing.

6 inch, I havent played in any competitions, and I always record mine and my friends scores, but after a very depressing round for one of my friends, we decided to count up our stableford scores in the bar. So at the end of every round we now count up our totals and in the bar work out the stableford scores. I dont want a gizmo to score the round as we go round as I enjoy not having my phone with me, I was more interested in an app that could keep my rounds for reference and work out the stablefords for three people in the bar afterwards.
