I have one and love it. I went for the 16GB model and did want a white one, but they'd sold out so I settled for black.

The internet is top notch, there are tonnes of apps which you can search for at any time, and the visual voicemail is great.

I would say texting takes me a lot longer than before as I never really needed to look at my phone whilst sending a text. Now I have to look and I have to concentrate.

For me the phone is everything that I need, so it suits me very well.

Oh one more thing I would mention is that the audio quality when it's on speakerphone isn't great, but again I'm kinda picking on things that aren't huge simply because the iPhone does a lot of things right (imo)

Agree with the above, I have one and its just simply the best phone I have ever owned.

It never gets boring because there is thousands of applications you can download when ever you want. Most of them are free although you can pay for some too.

The only downside is it only has a 2meg camera and doesn't record video. The camera isn't bad, if you have a look at my post about the belfry, all the pics on there were took with the iphone.

You couldn't send or receive picture message originaly but some genious has created an application that now lets you do this. Just shows that the phone can always be kept upto date with the latest software.

Interenet is fantastic and so easy to use, I often browse this forum on the Iphone.

Touch screen takes an hour or two to get fully used to but once you have, its hours of endless fun and entertainment!

What do you want a phone to do?

I use my phone constantly for emails and organiser so went with a BlackBerry Bold and I love it. Going to get flamed for this but I think the IPhone is a bit chav tastic these days.

I'd be interested to hear why you'd label it chav-tastic. Just because it's become very popular?

Just dont like it fella, im a bit odd! as soon as something becomes fashionable and celebrities start using it im out. Had a go with a mates and didnt like it, pain in the ass to type and for what I use my phone for totally impracticable.

It's brilliant, especially synching up automatically with iLife and mobileMe. E-mail and texting top notch. Video quality superb. I have a couple of full movies on mine for when I'm bored. Camera is poor though....but I have a camera for that!

I cant see the point when a Nokia N95 8GB or N96 is just as good and better for useability, also you are less likely to get robbed of it by ferral chavs.

Touchscreen is ok if you have sensible sized fingers but I just had to send my Blackberry Storm back as my fingers were to big for the buttons.

The mms application is free to download. Basically you just enter ya mobile number and message pin that 02 give you and when you receive amessage saying you have been sent an mms, instead of going onto the 02 site to download it, you open the mms app like you would normal SMS and the message is there. You have to buy credits via paypal to send them though but only cost the same as a normal mms would. Great addition for free.

I am obviously a bit strange, as I just want a phone that makes calls. I dont want any of the gadgets, just decent signal srength and decent (over one week) battery life. I must be odd as both of these features are now impossibleto get. If I can't get 5 bars up in london, I don't think ever will.

The vast majority of people only use about 20% of the capability of their phone. yet they always want the all singing, all dancing one that even makes tea!

Just think for a minute - what did you do before you had a mobile?

John its really very simple, and takes half as much time to do as I did to write it. Agreed most other phones do it anyway, but most other phones dont do half the stuff the Iphone does. All entitled, and for what I want it for, it has it all and extra!

FWIW, I haven't even wanted to send a picture message for a long time. I guess if you're a habitual picture message sender, then it's not ideal. Do you send that many picture messages that it would be a problem?

In fact the main benefit of this phone that I neglected to mention is simply the fact that I now have my iPod and my iPhone in the same device. I was running out of pockets for anything else when I had my iPod as well as my normal phone. Now it's all together and was the reason I purchased it.

I have used an Ipod touch to surf the internet and a lot of sites etc are unobtainable due to not being compatible with certain programs ie java.
Have they changed this so you can basically use the internet as you would at home or is it still hit and miss if it will actually run the program ??

Yeah pretty much, the Iphone 3g has wifi so if you can get on the wifi, its pretty much anything goes regarding surfing.

The 3G is excellent and really quick. The GPS is spot and and as good as any sat nav.

Barney, it does have picture message sending once you D/L the free app. And thats the good thing about it, the phone is always available for the latest applications.

Anyone tried any of the current range of iphone copies, thinking about the Nokia, LG and Samsung touchscreen phones. Also tempted by an Iphone but already have an ipod touch so cannot see the need to spend the £150 on top of the contract so looking at the ones I can get free.
