Internet connection ??

The odd time i can't get online, in my wi-fi settings, a message pops up saying, connected to Virgin Media but there's no internet connection.
Virgin checked but say everything is working alright , so why is it happening.
Any thoughts ?.

Do you leave your modem/router on all the time? When you get that issue, have you tried rebooting the modem/router?
Occaisionally my Virgin router will do exactly the same thing (I use a seperate router for the wifi), and rebooting it clears the fault.

Yes, i leave the Virgin Super Hub on all the time, the odd time this happens i've tried rebooting but it still says " connected to Virgin acc ******* but not connected to the internet internet. Eventually it does connect ,but can take forever

Check to see if you can get online if you cable your device to the router. This will eliminate wireless as being part of the issue. If wired devices cant get internet connection either you have a problem with either the ISP or the non-wireless part of the router ie DHCP server, DNS address, etc

Rather than rebooting, do a full reset by holding in the reset button with a pen (rear of router). Leave it for 15 minutes or so to set itself up again.
