In your opinion - Who make the best Woods, Irons, Wedges,Putters and Balls

Woods = Taylormade RBZ
Irons = Cooper Forged Blades
Wedges = Miura
Putter = Radius Tour
Balls = TM Penta
Bag = Ogio
Shafts = Accra & Scandium
Grips = Iomic 2.3 Sticky
Glove = Footjoy
Shoes = Footjoy Dryjoy
Tee's = Wooden
Clothes = Galvin Green

Whichever make of club hits the ball where I want it to go with the swing I put on it is the best...
The rest is just subjective

That's why I put "In your opinion".

That is my opinion..
Today it's Ping, Callaway and Cleveland woods
Callaway irons
Titleist Wedges and Odyssey putters.

Might be different tomorrow.....

Drivers - Titleist/Callaway
F/W woods - Ping/Cobra
Hybrids - Callaway/Ping
Irons - Ping
Wedges - Cleveland
Putters - Odyssey
Balls - Callaway (Chrome)

My opinion:

Woods - It's personal
Irons - It's personal
Wedges - It's personal
Putters - It's Personal
Balls - It's Personal

All OEMs have had examples of fantastic and disastrous offerings.

Personally, the only 'constant' has been Bettinardi putters. I found that the only Scotty I've really got on with (the original TeI3) was mainly made by RJB, as were (well the design) the Cally Titanium Blue series. Of course, the C01/C03 is basically the same design as BHB-1(?), BHB-5 and BB41/BB42 (and TT1, TT2)

For me, I think
Woods - titleist
Irons - mizuno
Wedges - cleveland-vokey's
Putters - odyssey-scotty's-ping
Ball - pro v1

:rofl:

Driver - N/A
woods - TM
irons - Ping G20
wedges - Ping Tour-S
Putter - Ping G5i
Balls - Titleist

Being new to the game, I am surprised at the amount of people backing Mizuno irons, I had never considered them such a strong brand before!

You never stop learning do you....

Got to be Ping.

Oversize drivers? Copied from Ping (Eye2).
Cavity back offset irons? Copied from Ping.
And we all know about the Ping Anser putter being copied by anyone that can.

They also recognised the effect of grooves 20 years ago.

I note that Ping never went into the adjustable driver market unlike others.

As for balls, I like the Callaway range.

Watch this space!!!!!!!

:thup:

Driver(s) : Whatever works

Fairways : Ping/TM float my boat

Irons : Cant see me ever moving away from Ping

Wedges : Like the new Cleveland 588 but delighted with my Ping.

Putter : Whatever works but favour Ping.

Ball : Callaway Hex Black / Bridgestone RX

For such a good reputation these Iomic grips have got to be the worst grips I've ever had on any club! Horrible and they just go slimey in the wet.

Oh I do miss the old (BigHitler regime) BombSquadGolf! You'd have loved it! :whistle:

Check out this link on the Coopers (posts 3/4 and 6) www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&...L50-B1QUATNQvaumQ&sig2=sWed4ghLVaqK3jgylZQ8vQ

And this one on the Scam-diums http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/324757-e21-scandium-shafts/

I think you'd love WRX btw.

This is what i was talking about, regarding my Miura wedges, against my old Vokey & Clevelands. Super soft forging. :thup:

Thx for the link. :thup:

BTW they are so right when it comes to the Scandium shaft. WRX guys are so knowledgeable. I think i might need to join the dark side. :clap:

Better? That's debatable. When it comes to a particular forging, better is in the hand of the beholder. From my personal experience, Kyoei forgings are some of the softest. That leads to that "hitting a marshmallow" feel when you strike the ball, but that isn't for everyone. Some people like a more positive feel when they strike the ball. Also, Kyoei does many forgings. They sell clubs with their name on them, and I know they do Vega clubs. Outside of those, I'm not sure. But, Miura is not a Kyoei forged club, I don't believe. I think Miura does all their own forging. If you talk to anyone that's ever hit a Miura, they'll tell you that they're the best blades out there and worth every penny. I haven't had a chance to hit them, but I'd like to.

Woods: Ping or TM its very close
Hybrids TM win by a mile, they are so far ahead of everyone else!
Irons: Mizuno or Ping, both the best but for different level of player
Wedges: Cleavland but Bob Vokey does a good job too :)
Putters: Ping or Odyssey, Scottys are too overpriced
Balls: Bridgestone or Wilson. ProV1 should still be the choice for the better player though!
Grips: Iomic
Shafts: Miura, Matrix, any of the big brands... its too hard to tell and too personal.
Gloves: Footjoy
Shoes: Footjoy
Clothes: Addidas, Underarmour or Galvin green depending on which layer :)
Umbrella:Blunt Umbrellas :D
Electric Trolley: Stewart Golf
Standard Trolley: Stewart Golf
Rangeballs: Srixon
Tees: Champ (based on the flytee), much better than Zero Friction
