I am trying to find out if your weight should be evenly balanced on both feet at the moment of impact or slightly on one foot or the other depending on which club you are using.

If i do anything other than have my weight central i finish up topping the ball or hitting it fat even if i try to assume a posture to mimic what i feel will be my impact position.

This is more pronounced when using long irons and Fairway woods.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Seen as you should be trying to create a solid left side at impact i would say that most of you weight needs to be on your left side.

IMO forget the word "impact" it's a swing and you should be swinging thorugh the ball, with a good strike you should hardly feel the ball. If the weight is too much on the right you hit it fat, I have the same problem !!

From the top of your backswing to the follow through is fractions of a second. The club head is travelling at a minimum of 80mph, you can't possibly feel where you are at the point the clubhead strikes the ball, concentrate on "swinging" through the ball.

I always find the slower and more relaxed I swing the further the ball goes.
