Apparently.......

I was voted in as Comp Sec to much whooping and cheering on the night at our AGM in Feb (we didn't have one and I was volunteered by some bloke on the main committee coz I open my big fat mouth to have a moan). Now it seems as I'm playing in a comp, if there is a rules query, the players just turn as ask my advice as though I now know every rule in the book.....which I can assure you I don't. How did this happen?????

Tell people to play 2 balls in the event of a query then bring it up after the round, that way you can check the rules when you are not mid round.

Post queries on here and the experts will be judge and jury. Tell your members this forum is now charge! (I know nowt by the way so I can't help I'm afraid)

Louise I know what to do in the event of a query, just what I'd like to know is, why all of sudden does EVERYONE think I know all the piggin' rules. I just want to scream "I DON'T KNOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I think you should run the rules based on common sense decisions rather than by the book. How much more fun would that be? It may be a short term tenure but you would be remembered. "The laws of golf according to Crazyface"

looks like it go`s with the job CF.
i assume you carry a rules book with you on the course .
in fact i would take half a dozen ,then when asked about a ruling you can just toss them a copy .
