Iconic movie scenes

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the triangular shoot out scene at the end
Once upon a time in the west - The introduction of Frank

I think iconic is possibly based on the score, and Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone were very good at it together.

James Bond - Union Jack parachute opening
Maybe more of a moment than a scene?

Score is part of the scene though isn't it? Play it without the score and the tension is minimal. Add in the score and whooaaaa.

Great shout on Bond. How about the Lotus coming out of the water and onto the beach? There are plenty of Bond ones but those two are pretty darned good.

Alien, the John Hurt stomach scene ?

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the triangular shoot out scene at the end

The Great Escape, Steve McQueen on his bike
Yes. But including Tuco running around the cemetery to "Ecstasy of Gold" beforehand and a one liner afterwards that would go in the other thread...
“You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.”

I hope this is not a spoiler

The train on the bridge at the end of The Cassandra Crossing coupled with Burt Lancaster's words.
