I kicked my Scotty in frustration at a team match on tuesday (I know this was not only stupid, but, poor ettiquette, my dad had a go at me haha)

Shafts bent, and Ive fallen out of love with it! The pro also told me the grip was on out of line, therefore, my missed putts on the right were actually good strokes!!

I held the TaylorMade est 79?? (odyssey no9 model) I loved the weight of it, but, I was made aware by the guy in the golf shop that this was the cheap model, and the ghost one was the putter to go for, has anyone held both putters and could confirm the ghost one was of a similar weight to the est 79....?

I'm biased but have you tried the Cleveland classic putter?

They do an odyssey no 9 shape and they really are the mutts nuts. I tried one up at morecambe and bought one within a week!

Cant believe they turn them out for 60 notes if i'm honest, they're a steal.

Oh, and hello, didn't notice it was your first post!

I prefer the 79 over the Ghost, just feels smoother and more positive when striking the ball. The best advice I can give is find somewhere that stocks both and try them side by side, only your opinion counts when your buying your own clubs anyway :)

Putters are subjective and what suits one person won't suit another. My advice is to find something that looks good to your eye behind the ball and then try it out on a proper green if possible. Try not to get swayed by names and keep an open mind. You'll know when you've found "the one"

I tried alot of putters out along with different styles.

Ended up with a RIFE putter.

Very cool and is brilliant with the rolled grooves.

Ash!!

my bro had a rife....he liked it, but fell out with it, and it got lobbed(round 2 of finals day, when he finished 2nd)

I felt the 79 was heavy, and that kept the putter in line, Ive got a scotty 2.6 just now, and loved it until the last few weeks. I reckon Ill keep it, and maybe opt for the cheaper TM or even the cleveland as a stop gap!

Ive just bought the Odyssey White Ice F7 2 ball. It arrived yesterday, so today was my first round. It's a beaut :-)

Cant recommend it highly enough, but then thats for me and my style.

I bit the bullet, the 79 is a cracking putter, for 40quid less aswell!!!

I stood over every outter knowing i had a real chance of rolling it in, and i did a few times. I never missed from inside 6ft either!

Had 78 in the winds today, and was really dissappointed, lost a ball up 16 and had a 7.....onwards and upwards!!
