• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

I know this annoys people but........

Got to love the george vaults, a nice atmosphere with nice beer. If you ever want a reccommendation on a curry house my mate owns a restaurant (high st) and a takeaway (delce rd) in rochester.

If you ever want a quiet beer or nice meal in great surroundings I would suggest joining the Roffen Club in new road, I belong and it is great.

Great curry house, quite contempary.. Had 2 excellent new years eve do's there 2004 & 2005. Glass of champers, loads of food for £50 I believe. Anyway, great to have a chat with you all after the rocky start and look forward to catching up.

Will have to arrange a game when the weather improves.

Glad you like cumin club, our MOT centre looks after all of their servicing/repairs/mot's etc so I know the guys there well.

Are you in business locally or are you in the rat-race?

Is it just me or can anyone see djcevo and medwayjon running towards each other across the 18th green, music playing in the background. Come on chaps get a grip its a golf forum not a dating site

PS Tongue firmly in cheek!!!!!!!!

"and when you rise in the morning sun, I see you touch me in the..........."

Just geting in the spirit of the gag chimps!

Haven't forgot that we need to have a game aswell MVP, or even a practice if we ever get to the range at the same time!

Yeah dont get too friendly tho jon!!

Hope this doesn't include BillyG!

I'm a newbie here and wouldn't want to think ive upset any novice convention by not introducting myself before blundering in with my first question.

If I have then I apologise.

in way of recompense my golfing background:

Started my golfing at the now defunct Kings Cross Driving Range with a mate who was much more into it. Didn't get the craic until I hit one pure 7 iron and Bang- hooked.

Then spent several years playing Whitewebbs, Cruise and Lea Valley on and off. Stopped playing for a number of years and then one day realised how much I missed the game and thought the missus and I would join a club. Weve been members for about a year and are learning the ropes. She's got through the 'duff the ball another 20 yards' stage a lot quicker than I ever did.

A Londoner for my sins and find the excuse to spend four-odd hours wandering after a little ball in some parkland irresistable.

Golf ambitions- to play off a reliable mid-handicap and maybe play a few of the greats around the world before I kick the bucket.

More realistically would be happy to break 100 regularly this year.

Biggest score killer statistically at the moment seems to be not knockng the chips and short pitches stiff.

Got a beautiful set of Ping Raptures which my skill level doesn't justify but I just loved 'em when I tried about 15 of the top club sets with the pro.

Anyway, a belated hello,

Bill
