I recently made another golf related purchase on fleabay and the item still has not arrived after 2+ weeks. I have contacted the seller every other day regarding dispatch dates and have had absolutely no response, which is worse than the delay in the item. They haven't even done the decent thing and responded to say the item has been dispatched, all I got was an automated email from Fleabay on the 29th making me aware.

I wish some people would just man up and and accept they didn't want to sell their item for what it went for. I may even have said no problem I'll forget the transaction but to just ignore people is just plain rude.

Obviously I've opened a case against him for which I'll get a refund but I'm more niggled about the nerve of the seller, especially after I pride myself on keeping buyers well informed about when I receive funds, dispatch the items, tracking numbers and even plan deliveries to suit others.

I'm guessing I'm not alone having an experience like this

What gets my goat,is when you buy an item, pay straight away, leave great feedback when you get item, only for the seller to ignore YOUR feedback entirely! Grrrrrrrrrr...

This gets my goat too. Bought a putter 3 weeks ago. One of the New Scotty Camerons in black. The seller bought from direct golf tried and didn't like had receipt etc and dated to show. I got it for almost half the RRP and it was brand spanking, not a mark on it. I left good feedback and paid within seconds of auction ending to get no feedback from the seller. I assume because he didn't get what he thought/paid for it.

That sucks Phil, sour grapes or what? Ebay should do something about this as your feedback is sooo important!

But am I wrong in thinking I should be treat the same way as I treat others during transactions, or am i just doing more than I should. I dont think so and like to keep people informed on where their purchase is after spending their hard earned money

Not at all Kev,keep up the good work mate! I also try my hardest to make every ebay sale a good one,it is really nice when you have a pleasant buying/selling experience,no?

I use eBay quite alot and rarely have problems. What does annoy me though is not being able to leave negative feedback for a buyer. I understand they get a strike against their account but it's too easy to just bid and not pay.

Maybe something like your PayPal being linked to your bidding and it automatically pays if you win an item could solve the problem.

Well I've had my eye on some garmin s1 watch gos things and asked the seller a question. The watch was not on in the picture and no charger showing so asked if it was included, also in the description was a cut and paste job from the garmin website saying the courses were American/Canadian. So question was is the charger in the sale and was it American as per the description or European but obviously just a copy and past error from the website.

Answer pretty quick but no charger and didn't know what the courses were!! Sounds like a dodgy one if ever there was!

Doesn't sound a good transaction in the OP, but rare in my experience (F/back >400). Hope it works out OK.

Feedback as buyer, while good to have, doesn't mean much really. It's the feedback as a seller that is most important imo. Picked up my first negative a couple of months ago - refusing to bow to the threats about low quality balls from buyer. The balls in the photos of the 'low quality balls' were different to the ones in the sale! I'm afraid the pendulum is a tad too far in favour of the buyer (I'm both), though I've heard that may change slightly shortly.

I know homer but you can't help looking for bargains. As others have mentioned you'd think they would have the decency to put a reserve on it if they didn't want to sell below a certain price

Been relatively lucky with my e-bay purchases... Apart from one club [Ping 4 wood] all my golfing related buys have been good 'uns... The 4 wood arrived with shaft damage... Contacted seller and once he got club back he refunded in full... He did re-list it though, at a later date, without mentioning damage to the shaft! [A ruddy great channel from 'bag rub' I'd guess]...

Only other 'issues' have been minor... Such as non arrival of DVD's which you always get your money back from PayPal... Got feedback of 1200+ as I've done a fair bit of selling relatively recently as next big event in my life will be retirement and a downsize to a bungalow by the seaside <happy grin>...

Still think vast majority on the 'bay are genuine people but as with anything in life there are some that take advantage...

As others have said get narked when my feedback as a buyer is not reciprocated and I wish [as requested in my listings] overseas buyers ask about postage costs before bidding rather than when they've won it... Being a soft touch I've allowed a couple to welch the deal...

Rarely had a problem with buying and selling but not leaving feedback irritates. I sold a driver and rescue club to two bidders and went to a lot of effort to ensure that they were well packed and despatched within time only for neither of them to utter a peep of feedback. Ungrateful so and so's.

I have only had one problem with flea bay where a buyer opened a case against me and said the R11 i sold him had a sky mark on it....absolutely no sky mark on it when i sent it.

Anyway offered him a complete refund in the case....he dithered and bitched about postage and then asked for a 30% discount which I refused as there was nothing wrong with it when i sent it.

Anyway finally settled on a 10% only to be left negative feedback ...what an Ahole.

I now believe it was a deliberate ploy to knock the price down on a perfectly good item, I would be wanting a refund if i bought a club with sky marks on it.....so you need to be careful in both buying and selling.

Feedback as a buyer is totally unimportant, I don't see why people get bothered about that. I would never look at that. The only feedback that matters is feedback as a seller which you need to check before paying for something.

yet this guy had 100% although I appreciate most 100% sellers are genuine.

In stark contrast to my OP I made a purchase on Monday night, was thanked for instant payment, was told my purchase would be sent yesterday, was told as the fella left the post office and found it at home when I got in from work.

A similar minded seller

i just bought an RBZ 3 wood which arrivd with a dent on the top of the head, contacted the seller and he tried to tll m that he never noticed but he would tae the club back and refund me minus vat and postage and that the club must have been damaged in the post. when i told him to gtf with the vat he tried to knock £30 off the price for me to keep the club. Ive returned the club and still waiting on my refund. Ive not left hime feedback yet but its not going to be positive.
