I hate Gimmies

never give them in anything if i can help it.I remember years ago playing in a roll up prize money something like £30 for winner(when £30 bought something) the winner was a chap who looked like the grim reaper had forgot about him and had what looked like some trembling in his arms,people clapped and said well done( and muttered about his high h/c) it was only when they discovered the 4 ball he had played with all about the same age 70+ had miss heard the rules on gimmIes,ANYTHING WITHIN A CARDS LENGTH,THEY thought it was a CLUBS length.

This weekend I've been playing in a board comp. greensomes on sat, foursomes today, bb next sat. I've missed, and seen putts missed that would be gimmes all day in any group I play with. Alternate shots messes with your head. Pressure messes with your head. I'd be all for banning giving putts, you need the practice. Really.

Ive no problem with gimmes but I dont like it when they are expected. If I give you a putt then fine, If I don't, then mark it and wait your turn to putt out.
