I fully appreciate that I may well be in the minority.........

but am I the only one on here that really isn't interested in the weekly goings-on on the European and PGA Tours or indeed, professional or amateur televised golf of any description? It may well be the inordinate amount of time that the vast majority of players seem to take to actually do anything, but whilst I absolutely love playing the game of golf, following the professional game just doesn't blow my dress up.

Am I weird?

A little bit weird :)

Not interested in every tournie but you do get some good ones, usually due to someone playing extraordinary. Certainly PGA in boring when it's west coast as its so late on tv over here :)

Hi,
I actually enjoy watching most golf on telly, but what does turn me cold, is the amount of time they show golfers lining up & sinking 2 foot putts. Why stalk a two foot putt?
I far prefer tee shots & fairway/rough/bunker shots being shown, particularly with super slo-mo, and will even watch LPGA events now that most of the girls look like girls!
I love watching golf.......................now that the Europeans are all conquering .

Slime.

Yep, the wierdest person that I've come across!

Chris

I like watching it for the slo mo stuff but agree the amount of time spent showing players hole out is silly and boring. I love watching the Ryder and Solheim Cups as there are only a few players out there so you see every shot and that means the duffers too and it's nice to see they're human. I usually say "blimey, I could do that" but don't often get that chance on normal TV coverage of European or PGA events!! Prefer the European tour and would like to see more live coverage of the Ladies tournaments as the highlights they show are so trunkated that it has no sense of real time and again way too much time spent on the greens.

Majors are different again and I'll watch them avidly although won't stay up past my bedtime to do so !! So the US ones are Sky+ and viewed from my turbo the next morning - sure makes the pedal time fly by.

Not having Sky I can't watch the majority of it but I'm always on the web watching the scores, looking out for my faves and those I'm not so keen on - hoping the good guys outscore the bad guys.

Amateur golf is different - can't get excited by it. Don't know why but it just doesn't light my candle or tickle my jockstrap!!

I do watch the Ryder Cup, The Masters and The Open, but your average every-weekend tournament just doesn't have the same appeal to me.

Weird alert, Delb will be in a tent on the beach. Although he could share with Fabian!

I did watch it when we had Sky Sports. I must day I far preferred the European stuff to the PGA but ended up watching more of the American due to timings.

To echo what's been said before, it is annoying that they spend so much time showing holing out. Particularly the highlights shows, all it screened was putts and not drives etc...

Majors mainly for me.
Love the Masters as that's the sign that spring has arrived.
The big European tour events are ok but the regular US tour just doesn't tickle my pickle :(

USPGA is a putting contest on TV and can get quite boring........

LOVE the European golf though and the OPEN is just.well........special and sends a tingle down my spine even thinking about it......just Magical:thup:

I like waching golf and I will usually watch it if its on but unless its majors or ryder cup etc ill stwich it off after half an hour because its just not that interesting. The amount of putting makes it quite boring

I agree with this.

Even in the years I wasn't playing golf I would take at least one of the Thursday or Friday off and get up for the start of the BBC coverage.....then not move for the 12 hours it was on :)

Im right with you dell, I'm more interested in what new shaft thecraw has, what new flight laws just one has found, how many mars bars bob mac has sold.... Very rarely do I get into pro golf
