Never thought I'd say it but I agree Val, I feel for the fans because their club is an absolute joke at the moment.

I'm neither green nor blue and generally enjoy seeing both sides of the OF suffer but this is crazy at Rangers just now.

Similarly, feel for the hearts fans as their situation isn't looking too clever either.......

I'd say Rangers have a larger following in Scotland, but worldwide I'd say Celtc are probably bigger.

Agree - The Rangers are probably quite a bit larger in Scotland overall (more marginal in the Central Belt). Celtic almost ceertainly larger worldwide due to the Irish link. Celtic would fill a Boston stadium - not sure The Rangers would.

My brother, nephew and niece are 'follow-followers' and clearly are decent folk - and I too feel a bit sorry for them. Likewise Hearts. A great and very important and honourable club in Scottish football history - this from the Hearts website

In November 1914, with Heart of Midlothian comfortably leading the First Division, sixteen players removed their football boots for those of the army, enlisting to fight in France. In doing so, they became the first British team to sign up en masse. They were part of the now legendary "McCrae's Battalion" (the 16th Royal Scots) or the Provost's Battalion (the First Royal Scots) and fought valiantly. Nowhere was this more true than at the horrors of the Somme, where the British army lost 20,000 men on the first day alone. This included three Hearts players.

By the end of WWI, seven Hearts 1st team players had lost their lives

McCraes Battalion also had Raith,Dunfermline,Hibs and Falkirk players in it, but seems to be have appropriated by Hearts over the years. And one thing to point out about Hearts and any sympathy you may feel towards them, have a look at the list of people they owe money to...you'll find Lady Haig poppy appeal, St Andrews Ambulance and yes, McCraes Battalion...all charities stiffed by Hearts. For a club so eager to promotes itself as being big supporters of McCrae,Rememberance Day and the scottish ambulance service, I find that quite revolting.

Today we have Jim McColl reportedly one of the richest Scotsmen saying he wants control of the club but won't pay Charles Green a coin.

And you all though Chuck Green was a charlatan looking for a cheap fix.

Laughable, honestly it's that sad you can do nothing more than laugh. I actually feel sorry for genuine Rangers fans who follow their team through thick and thin who thought they were on the right track under Green and his team and now the infighting is worse than the squables for control after liquidation.

Mental stuff and if reports are correct the next 4 weeks could be entertaining.

I'm very depressed by the whole situation. Never liked Green but just don't know who to believe in this; probably nobody!

Can't even rise to any of the bait..... :(

The current Hearts mess is one thing and yes - revolting is not an inappropriate word to describe it. But I still have a bit of a soft spot for them as a club - primarily as I see them as traditionally the one Scottish club who could realistically challenge the weegie biggies on a regular basis.

Scottish football is a complete and utter shambles. The state of it is bordering on unrepairable, it'll continue to get worse and more and more we'll be embarrassed again and again by results in Europe that Hibernian subjected Scottish Football too.

And Craig Whyte is still mooching about. Sorry bud - it's a complete shambles. Why they still feel the need to go spend, spend, spending on players when they just don't need to to win promotion I just don't get. They don't need to have won the league by Christmas so why spend to try.

Oh well. I'll stick with my diddy team and cheer them on in the european cup tie tomorrow evening. Win or draw we get through to the play-off round and another €100,000. Win that over two legs and we are into the Group stage and a base €1,300,000 plus €100,000 for every draw and €200,000 for any wins. Money almost beyond out dreams. But first, let's get past Minsk tomorrow.

Fingers crossed St Johnstone restore some pride in Scottish Football although to be fair they already have.

Yeah, can't help feeling whyte and green and duff and phelps had the whole thing stitched up between them but who knows the truth?

Anyway good luck St Johnstone, great chance to progress to the next round at least. :)

What I find incredible is the insular approach from Celtic fans who don't realise that this whole sorry affair and dire state of Scottish football will impact on them.

Scottish football is the living dead at present, the product is horrendous, the people running it can't see where its going, they refuse to listen to the fans views and wishes and just plough on with the rudderless ship they are sailing on.

I am neither a rangers fan or a Celtic fan but you seem help bent on causing trouble on this thread, please let us not forget what went on at the other end of the City, Jim Torbett and his mates the Kelly family now that is sick but somehow the club has moved on and got over the sordid affair and that was a lot more serious than what is going on right now at the other end of the city.Scottish football has been in a terrible state for years.

Agree. When we applied to go into admin, HMRC lodged a petition to be allowed to appoint the administrators bu they backed down and allowed White to appoint Duff & Phelps. At the time i (and most Rangers fans) thought this was great with the paye owed to HMRC and with the big tax case, the last thing we wanted was HMRC running the show.

How wrong we were

Cheers - We'll try our best you can be sure - and here's hoping the fermers open their purses, come along and fill the place
