I cannot resist.

...but do people really need to keep putting the boot in??

Well considering all the rubbish we 'diddy' teams have had to put up with from them over the decades; the Queen and country stuff; consider that they and Celtic would happily dump the rest of us in two seconds flat if they could get into an English or European league; and given their follow-followers hail-hail from all round Scotland and slag off the locals for supporting their local team - well yes I'm afraid that we do.

btw - note how I neatly pull in Celtic supporters for a wee dig - though I will happily note that Celtic fans have been veruy fulsome in their praise of how we have done over the last few weeks. Many fewer words of congratulations emanating from the The Rangers supporters. What a surprise.

And I'll add - the The Rangers supporters refuse to admit that they are a new club and yet happily dismiss creditors of Glasgow Rangers as nothing to do with them - and they refuse to properly apologise for what they did over the years.

And the shambles continues today as Walter Smith resigns as Chairman and Swally calls Charles Green as embarrassment. It is all so painful.

Aye - all the fermers saw the rain coming so had to get the hay in. Note that whilst it's great that we'ere in with a chance of getting to the Europa play offs - 3 home games in the space of two weeks is an unheard of call on the Perth Purse. So Saturday we let the Jambos make up the numbers and - and 6000+ isn't too shoddy - double our normal home gate of last couple of seasons :)

But the 6k included 4k Jambos. 2 and a bit k fans for the 1st league game of the season off the back of the great exploits is poor IMO.

Be great to see them go through in front of a full hoose this week!

Being a fan of the mighty Shakers in the north west of England, i hear you loud and clear SLH. Its never easy supporting one of the less "fashionable" clubs, i know.
I just find it upsetting when ever one of these threads degenerates into a slanging match, with the usual ugly undertones of sectarianism thrown in for good measure. It does Scotland, and Scotish football a great dis service imho.
Still, just my opinion. Good luck on Thursday.

Has it?

Must have missed that or are you actually hoping it does?:mmm:

I see Walter chucked it today, I wonder if he got a dodgy bridie at the weekend

Lots of news to come from Govan way this season, there's more infighting over there than there is in Syria.

Various rumours that they could be heading for Admin number 2.

Surely not? Would be great fun though if it happened......great fun again.

Heard that also this weekend, also hear a rumour about a missing £10m from the rights issue and an impending suspension of season ticket sales, all stories granted but thats what's rumoured.

I take it back!

Scottish Football can be entertaining!

Strikes me, this is more about money than football though!

I lost interest in this merry go round about a year ago. Its just a media circus now. The only thing missing from Rangers now is a child abuse scandal like there city rivals!

Default position for those who know less than nowt about Scottish football/society/banter...blame it on sectarianism. Can't have slagging off either sides of the OF coin without it being aw aboot religion.

Sanctions? What sanctions were they?

Oh aye the transfer embargo where the SFA gave them a month to sign whoever they wanted and as many as they wanted before it kicked in!

Unlike how Dunfermline's kicked in straight away for the same offence, yep one rule for one and another, what a surprise that Rangers were on the good end of it.

The embargo initially did kick in straight away. It was challenged in court by Rangers admin and the SFA were ordered to remove it and find a sanction within the rule book. Rangers later accepted the ban (part of the 5 way agreement) but by this time only had 6 players training with them as most had done "walking away" as they were entitled to do due to TUPE laws and yes we did get a break as the SFA agreed to delay it 3 weeks but it was common sense as we would not have been able to field a team. The SFA did state that the embargo would probably not have been considered as a punishment if the "walking away” happened first”.

You need to look at the bigger picture here though, instead of the “usual one rule for the old firm and one for the others”. Dunfermline have a 6 month embargo while Rangers is 12 months. The SFA also fined Rangers for an insolvency event (£50k) as per SFA rules state and also another fine for bringing the game into disrepute (110K) by going into admin. Dunfermline never received a fine for either which is probably just as well as every penny the fans group has raised has gone into buying East End Park. If they needed to find another £100K+ to pay this fine in full (classed as football debt) it may have killed off the fans bid to buy the club, so you can easily say Dunfermline were on the good end of a few decisions from the SFA.

Good luck to the fans group btw.

Doesn't the McCoist-Green-Team slanging match count as 'abuse'?

Certainly a bunch of 'children' imo!

I agree about them all acting like children but the real abuse was going on at the other end of the City and in no way shape or form is it something to joke about.

they're even closing a stand down at one particular ground, they say "health an safety" reasons, but we know the real truth,,

Not quite, but lets not let the facts cloud a good story.

On the other hand, have they no shame

The charities watchdog has strongly criticised trustees of the Rangers Charity Foundation after cash raised at a match went to the football club

STV website puts quite a different slant on it and contains the following from the regulators conclusion

"The decision to assign the charity’s rights in the contract was made in good faith and in the interests of the charity given the risk that otherwise the event may not have taken place, in which case the charity would have received no benefit at all."

In other words the one trustee did not follow due process when signing over the event to Duff & Phelps (as not all trustees were consulted and in agreement) but if it the event was not signed over, it would probably have not taken place at all, but you are right Duff & Phels have no shame for keeping a share of the money

You missed out the bit about the rules being bent backwards in Sevco's favour in order for the new club to be admitted to SFL3. :blah::smirk:

Not sure what to pull out of the fridge or cupboard next Stuart,I have about had my fill of jelly and ice cream or popcorn.............

Today we have Jim McColl reportedly one of the richest Scotsmen saying he wants control of the club but won't pay Charles Green a coin.

And you all though Chuck Green was a charlatan looking for a cheap fix.

Laughable, honestly it's that sad you can do nothing more than laugh. I actually feel sorry for genuine Rangers fans who follow their team through thick and thin who thought they were on the right track under Green and his team and now the infighting is worse than the squables for control after liquidation.

Mental stuff and if reports are correct the next 4 weeks could be entertaining.
