I bought today.....

Why's that? What happened?
Last October, I decided to take some time off from playing golf, due to changing jobs and golf burnout, I guess, and sold everything.
Fast forward to November 2025; I decided I wanted to start playing again, so I had to buy everything again, albeit 2nd hand. Which was nice, I had to buy a club a week, so it wasn't a big hit to the wallet, and I changed from a Taylormade to a Ping, and couldn't be happier.
The hype is real with the top-end of the bag ping clubs (even though my driver is really good atm, I might try out a G425 max driver and see if it's as good as the fairway metals and hybrids are).
Also, my membership expired in the middle of my hiatus, so now, until the sun stays up longer in the afternoon, and due to work, I can only really play once every other week, but try to hit the range every Sunday morning to keep myself active. anyways, thanks for asking :)

I had the g425 max driver, it was great, best driver I’d ever had. I then believed the hype about the 430 10k max and bought that instead. Prefer the 425. For me it was longer and still had enough forgiveness. I’d highly recommend it.

I’ve changed my Mizuno STx 220 to a Ping G440 . The fitter at Scottsdale fitted my shaft into a Stiff although it’s a softish Stiff . It’s really improved my driving . Extra 15 to 20 yards and straight. I really recommend a good fitting

The same thing happened to my stealth HD last year when I was playing a Kal'li White stiff at 9 degrees upright, my driving was all over the place, but recently changed over to a Tensei Orange Xtra Stiff at 9.75 normal and it's been nothing but straight bombs and an extra yards on top of it, its unbelievable, so I was wondering if the same tensei shaft in a G425 would be even better, as my ping 3 wood and 3 hybrid are an absolute dream to hit.

My Ping g425 was great .
I have a -4 AOA so it did spin a bit but most do for me.
It was straight as a die but a bit shorter than my Callaway Elyte.
I have kept it as it’s a really good back up on tight courses.

Interesting. My swing speed isn’t fast enough for a stiff shaft, but the g425 came with a tense orange av stiff, and it’s been amazing. Straighter and longer. So I kept it and put it in the g430.

I didn’t think my swing speed was, im 60 now and I’ve never been in Stiff . But a very good player I play with says I’m probably in between (old money Firm) but the shaft is a light shaft. I’ve recently been for a fitting to upgrade my Mizuno irons. I was in regular Lite previously but he’s fitted me into Stiff lite . I’ve only played with my irons twice so I’ve not really tested them properly. One thing I will caveat all this is I’ve improved this season starting at 13..2 and finished on 8.9 so maybe I’ve picked up a bit of speed 🤷‍♂️

I have a golf cap From Pebble Beach golf club. I’ve never been but still wear it. My mate bought it for me seven years ago during a visit there and my hair had fallen out due to treatment for lymphoma 🤣 Nobody yet has ever asked me what it was like when I “played there”.
Hi mate. Nice hat. How was Pebble when you played there?

I did use the Mizuno Optimizer club when I had my fitting. How it works is , it’s a 7iron fitted with a very teccy Bluetooth computer . You do 3 swings hitting a ball with it . Then it recommends top 3 shafts that suit your swing . I don’t know why more fitters don’t use it

Because I would think it’s patented to Mizuno

I’ve just ChatGPT it . Apparently Callaway have something called FITS ..
Callaway has developed its own motion-capture based shaft fitting system called FITS, which — like Mizuno’s Optimizer — uses a sensor (that attaches to the club) to analyse your swing and recommend suitable shafts with just a few swings. This system captures swing dynamics and matches them to Callaway’s (and sometimes broader) shaft libraries

Are you sure he wasn't just unloading his car and you've half-inched it??
To be fair this happens a lot where I live little freebie giveaways. People post on the community Facebook page a picture of all goods placed outside their front door all free to collect.

Been some really good finds over the last few years and we’ve done the same with some kids bits. It’s a nice little thing to do and saves people a few pennies with kindness.
