In my irritated state I may just have purchased a set of PXG Gen7 black irons for when the comeback happens. Eventually. Maybe.
Picked up the T200's on Monday and they look fantastic, had to be in the house most of the day yesterday to wait delivery of a washing machine but playing at 5 o'clock tonight, can't waitIf anyone's interested I've gone for stiff Tensie Red graphite shafts, mainly to try and help a bit with the tendinitis I suffer from sometimes, was averaging 175 yds with the 7 iron on the Trackman off a mat, which I'm never really comfortable hitting off, not too bad for a 67 year old, according to the Pro I can still 'get it out there a bit' nice to know !
Well, used my T200's for the 1st time last night and I'm well impressed, didn't flush every shot obviously, wouldn't be a 6 h'cap if I could, but they do what it says they will, high launching and great ball flight, I think the graphite shafts make a difference, for me anyway, away on holiday for a week soon so won't be playing for 10 days or so, a bit of a wait for the next game ........Picked up the T200's on Monday and they look fantastic, had to be in the house most of the day yesterday to wait delivery of a washing machine but playing at 5 o'clock tonight, can't wait![]()
After seeing Shiels' review where he waxed lyrical about it, and MyGolfSpy's testing where it scored highly, I really want the TaylorMade Spider 5kZT now.I was having a look at zero torque putters this morning and Nordica golf had a brand new square to square Jailbird for £215 - delivery time looked a bit long at 1-2weeks but was free. Given the saving I decided to purchase. I didn’t try the jailbird just the #7 in 34” and I tried the max and other one in 35” .. 35” is my ideal. I don’t like the appearance of the max and other one although I sunk putts. The #7 wasn’t discounted so I figured jailbird will be fine.

I did get one a while ago and hated it - kept hitting everything out of the toe. But I only gave it about 3 weeks, haha. If I want to get on the zero torque train I don't have a choice.Try a centre shafted putter first to see if you get on with them. I bought one a week ago and so far I’m loving it but I can’t justify shelling out £450 on a putter…can I![]()
Try a std spider with the insert before you get invested. I found it a little “poppy” and my distance putting started to become erratic. I moved to just milled faces because of this. But to be honest none of the Odyssey inserts made me feel this way. After seeing Shiels' review where he waxed lyrical about it, and MyGolfSpy's testing where it scored highly, I really want the TaylorMade Spider 5kZT now.![]()
I did also try a Spider Tour a while ago and hated it, but this new one looks very different to be honest. They have a lot of wildly varying designs that they whack a 'spider' label on. Rick actually says this one has an extremely soft-feeling face, so not much 'pop' I wouldn't think.Try a std spider with the insert before you get invested. I do like the spider putters but £450 is a bit rich and the insert should be an option.
I will do, I am a bit worried about distance putting and those ones from the fringe .. my current putter is very good for distance control, but occasionally I lose the face control .. so I am hoping this is addressed. Please let us know how you get on with it once you're out on the course.![]()

Now if they smothered the putter in bbq rub.........Honestly, he can't, he won't
The yorkshire blood running through his veins dictates the tightness, sorry, I mean he's just careful
(His words....)
