Ok. I am sold then. I used my 21 degree driver today for the first time ever during my lesson. I showed it to my pro and he said try it, as I had been struggling with my 5 wood. Well still some errant shots but nowhere near as bad as with my woods and got good distance with the one ball going a good 180+ yards. I wasn't sure about them but have to say after using one I am sold.

I had a similar experience - was absolutely guff with my 3 iron, so had a very sceptical go with an 18 deg hybrid, and super happy with the results, much more control and as I'm much more relaxed with it, I don't try and hit the logo off the ball!

brought my mate kicking and screaming into the world of hybrids this summer. he was adamant he couldnt hit them. the longest club he had after the driver was the 4 iron. i convinced him to give them a go and soom enough his go to club was a mizuno 20 degree. he has since dropped about 5 shots off his handicap. this is largely due to using his hybrid.

Yep. Big fan! There are even times when I hit the 5-iron badly enough to want a replacement for that too! They don't suit some people though. And I still have a 1-iron (and several 3-irons) for practice.

i have a 3/4/5 hybrid setup, the 5 i could probably drop for an iron but the 3/4 is an absolute god send. im going to drop my 5 wood to make space for an extra wedge now as 3/4 compensate for this.

2 iron replacement, great club! Love it! Its actually called a 3h but is the loft of the 2 iron for my clubs.

Love it love it love it! I look pro on the range beating that thing miles, even in winter!

I'll never carry a 3 iron ever again, and I would even consider dropping my 4 iron too.

I'm a firm believer of making the game as easy as possible for yourself.

The only time I struggle with a hybrid is in strong winds if it's straight into your face. Other than that, they're great. I even use mine around the greens sometimes - so versatile.

Yep, bought a Adams hybrid set off eBay was only really interested in the 3&4 but they came with a 5 as well, and after a trial on the range my 5i now lives in the garage with my 3 wood, love my hybrids

My eldest son has a Persimmon DRK set, and I hit his hybrid lovely.

Bought a Ping i20 20 degree with 5.5 Project X shaft and I can't hit it for toffee!! He's offered to swap, the cheeky bugger!

Practice practice practice... :fore:

Hybrids are all about finding something that works for you and suits your eye as well as getting the gaping right. I'm another who has struggled with hybrids over the years. Not struggled to hit them but struggled to find consistent gaping and flight. I used a 2 iron for years and the nearest I ever got to replacing that was an original Mizuno CLK.

I'm now delighted with my Adams A12 hybrids, so much so that my 4 iron has been made redundant for a matching 23 degree model as well.
