Hows your Saturday gone?

I dug deep in the medal today. I could put up with the wind but the rain started on the back 9 and for the last few holes it was chucking it down. Used 4 gloves in as many holes.

Now the good bit, had my first eagle for a long time at the par 5, 477 yard 9th to get out in 39 shots. My two playing partners were ready to go in but I was not having it and managed a nice birdie at the 410 yard last for 38 back. 77 shots, net 71, and that’s 5 medals on the trot that I’ve broke 80. Without doubt the most consistent golf I’ve ever played round Royal Musselburgh.

Got up late, felt crap for the usual couple of hrs ) Took the dog for a bit of training and play and accidentally finished at the village pub , went home to download some pics, eat and have some fun with the kids.

In amongst all that there were the dozen or so calls from people and one or two visits from others.

All in all a chilled out sat.

No golf for me today, didn't finish until 8 last night playing in the 1st round of our summer pairs, 3 up with three to play and my partner had a tap in par to half the 18th to win by one hole. Next game will be our midweek stableford comp on Wednesday.

No golf today and i'm back to work tomorrow and monday , but i've got rounds organised for tuesday and wednesday , thursday is next round of club singles and friday i've 36 hole regional work comp down Ipswich way. Day off saturday before weekend medal sunday. oh and a couple of night shifts thrown in tues and wed night too

Played this morning in a gale with a fine young junior off the same handicap. He out drove me on every hole by around 30 yds.

Wind was fierce at least 3 club difference.
Scored 32 points with a blob on the 8th. Played reasonably well, a few loose shots cost me a few double bogeys.

Played my first ever medal and was reasonably happy with my round. Scored a net 72 and struck the ball well for me, just ruined it with two 9's on holes I usually do ok on. But played to my newly acquired handicap of 24 off the whites in windy conditions so not complaining.

Snap Brendy. I was really looking forward to the round yesterday. Got to the course at 6.40 for 7.30 start. The weather was lovely at 6 oclock. Walked up to the tee and the heavens opened. We played through in the hope it would clear. But it didnt. We played round to the 9th, and walked in. Spoke to the Captain and he closed the course. The only good thing being is I didnt get.1 back. Playing today hopefully the weather will be alot better.

Didn't play yesterday (work every Saturday) but have a game arranged today at Leatherhead with HTL, Homer & my mate Norman. Weather is looking absolutely glorious at the moment, brilliant sunshine and not a hint of breeze. Forecast says it will stay like this all day.
Really looking forward to it.

Ended up calling off yesterday after I was out during the night dealing with a problem at work. The horizontal rain had nothing to do with the decision to call off. Honest !

Today, well is has started sunny with a little breeze, the wife is away playing in her comp this morning so its all quiet in our house at the moment.

had to play Football/Cricket etc in the garden
Collapsed in a heap with a twinge in my back and the telly blew up.

So yeah it went great!!

Today - much the same but without the swimming or tesco's. And a new telly.....
But playing tomorrow and maybe again in the week. Then I've got to save myself for Bearwood Monday week!!

Just turned up at club and found out I came 3rd yesterday with 39 points, really regret those 2 blobs now! Been cut down to 16.6 from 17.2. Just glad I still get 17 shots for my match with Smiffy in an hours time.

Terrible, been playing so well in the week so was really up for the medal. Ended up shooting 95 with 2 x 7's and 2 x 8's on the card. If I'd have bogey'd those 4 holes i'd have come in 1 under net. Oh, and did i mention the 4 x 3 putts !!!!!!!!!!
