Me and my mate are both members of the Derby and the PGA @ the Belfry. On Saturday we where playing on the PGA and teed off around 3:30ish. Playing in front was the membership advisor and the head of sales. After catching up with them on most tees and having a joke with them it was apparent the course was moving slow and they gave the clubhouse a ring to get the Marshall out. He come out and had a little chat with them and then drove up to us and explained that there had been a problem with a golf travel company and the course had been over-booked by 50 odd players. After he asked us to write our contact details down as we where going to be given a free round on the PGA in the future to which we replied we are members and it wouldn't be much good to us LOL anyway off he drives and after another chat with the two Belfry staff he come back and told us we where being given a free round on the Brabazon whenever we pleased. The round took in total 4 hours 20 mins which can be the norm for a lot of courses and I wouldn't of even mentioned the slow round to anyone as it wasnt that bad.

So we went and played it this afternoon and although windy the sun was out and the course was in fantastic condition. Highlight of the round was my pitch to the 10th green after laying up (Boring) and I was left with a 1 foot putt for birdie. I did birdie it the last time I played the Brab but that was after a lucky bounce from the hill right of the green which rolled to a couple of inches LOL

Sorry to bore you all but I feel the Belfry deserve a massive thumbs up from me as they have gone above and beyond since we joined in Feb

Interesting to see that they looked after members after a thread last week about guy having trouble trying to make a booking and eventually going elsewhere.

I think he updated that post today and after getting through to the Belfry I believe he is all booked up now and stress free.

Nice freebie
4 hrs 20 isn't quick but it's not that slow, especially if the course is overcrowded.

How did you get on at the 18th?

I'm going to say a high push slice off the tee, lay up at the lake and double bogey and mark hooked into the lake off the tee?

Toed my hybrid just over the water and had 230 to the front over more water  to which I decided forget that. Laid up to 135 and knocked a PW on and two putts later a 5.

good customer service
would like to play it sometime just to say I have done it

It's a really nice course mate I don't see why it gets stick. The greens where scary fast today it was ridiculous. Fairways and tee boxes immaculate and the rough as nasty as it gets. If you do play it make sure you stand on the blue tees on some holes to see how the course is meant to look and play as courses look very different from the yellows in my opinion.
