How to cheat at golf

I lost our society on count to one personal who has a trate of all 3:

Ballhawk - Topflite into the woods, pinacle out, " oh a changed ball on the tee"

Accountant - "3 off the tee yet pars the hole."

Improver - would find hes ball in the rough but lift it to identify it, winter rules (imrpoved lies) counted in the rough, and the best yet was when he spanked he's drive right at tillgate forest into the deepest woods, and when he did identify the right ball that was on a tree stump replied " do i get a drop here "...

i play often with someone who is a bit of an accountant

fairly new to the game so i keep picking him up having a recount hopefully he'll suss he needs to keep an accurate count.....can understand miscounting 1 shot but when its 2 u think to yourself "oh come on"

lets face it youre only cheating yourself

I've played with a few accountants, often the better player in the group who just can't accept he can still duff it occasionally. It shouldn't affect my game, but it does, when I know as a high handicapper I'm almost duty-bound to have a worse score than them!

Had an idiot 4 handicapper at our club a number of years ago. Fiddled his card by "several" shots just to record an 80 and avoid embarrassment in the clubhouse. Got banned for life.

i played with my father in law in the summer seems along time ago lol and he was a bit of a miss counter ob twice on the same hole but still comes up with a 6 lol gave up counting in the end as he was only cheating his self

We had a father and son at a club I played at.
They always played together in medals.
When someone else played with them, they never played well.
When just the two of them played, one of them normally won prizes.
Until 2 players watched them playing the 17th in a medal. The son took 4 shots to get in the greenside bunker so even if he holed his bunker shot, it was at best a 5.
No surprise the son won the medal with a 4 on the 17th.
The manager was summoned, the reports taken and the father and son never playd at the club again.

We had a 4 handicapper at Wimbledon Common. He'd always play with two old boys and never with anyone of a similar ability. Naturally he'd hit it a fair distance but not always straight. Of course he goes off to look for his ball and by the time the old guys have nobbled it down to where he was he's found it and somehow always got a miracle line to the green.

He got caught out when the captain followed him keeping out of sight. He saw him cheat on numerous occasions including the ball down the trouser leg and the leather wedge. We'd all had our suspicions for a long time. I think he got a ban but he did return some time later. However he got deliberately entered into a club match (something like the Daily Mail or similar where it's usually single figure guys) and he struggled to break 90. After that I think he knew the game was up and left

I played with someone today who marked his ball by placing his marker in front of the ball on the 16th for me to putt first. I than noticed he placed the ball in front of the marker when replacing it.

I said that he needed to be careful when replacing his ball that he did it properly and I told him of his error and he corrected it. Hopefully he won't repeat it.

I have never seen him do it before.

I have played with an odd job - the old OOOO down the trouser leg but one guy who i play with in a friendly knock could hit his ball into the middle of a 20 foot high cornfield and he would always be able to find it

I'm somewhat puzzled by the apparent tolerance that's shown toward known cheats. OK, in a friendly (ie no money involved) game, you spot something then you can just drop a gentle reminder as if he may not know the rule.
I played in a charity game once which was spoilt for me when being told by my playing partners that the group behind would win 'because they always did, so-and-so never got a bad lie etc, and they'd all come in with scores above 35'. They did.

I must hold my hands up to being an accountant when I started 3 ears ago. Was also called a Sand shuffler as I used to shuffle sand from behind the ball to gain more purchase before I knew the rules

Obviously since then I have learned to enjoy the game more by simply taking the good with the bad and cheat no more.
