The Grinder Of Pars (Semi Crocked)
Assuming you hit your average shot, how much further does your driver go compared to your 3 wood?
If I hit a normal driver - which isn't very often at the moment - I'll see about 250-260 including roll. That's average. But the 3 wood (well really its a 4 wood as its 17 degrees) goes about 240-250 and straighter too.
Several times today I used the 3 or even 5 wood off the tee and ended up where I normally do with the driver.
So the question is - how much further should I hit a driver?
Its a 10.5 degree G15 with the stock stiff shaft. The 3 wood is a Cleveland Launcher with a regular Fujikura Gold shaft that obviously works for me.
Regular shaft drivers seem to whippy for me - I can't seem to swing properly but the regular in the 3 wood flies.
I'm getting tempted to find a 13 degree Launcher with that shaft and use that instead of the G15. Might get an extra 20 yards out of it.
