How much does your golf cost per round?

This is interesting reading, as I'm changing clubs next April and have been looking at all the financial options.

Has anyone included their joining fees into the calculations? I've come across fees from £500.00 (paid over 5 yrs) to £1200. + the normal yearly membership.

It's not always a good thing to calculate everything, I like to go to the range and will spend maybe 3.00 on balls, Once? Twice? x weeks...... it all adds up.

I'll leave the exact amount for others to work out. ;)

Who cares ?? All I know is I pay £870/year, and get unlimited access to a course that I have loved for 20years+, never tire of playing, and is a constant source of enjoyment.

Thats priceless.

As a member of a pay and play it depends upon the number of rounds I play.
Costs £17.50 mon/fri £22.00 w/end
2 rounds per month = £420 + society outings 1 per month = £300
Total cost per year £720+
this does not include the golf holidays each year £800 for 3 4day outings.
That is over £1500 a year, then we have balls and the like.
Have to get some more overtime in!

this year has been a disaster as far as value for money goes. I've only played 10 medal rounds and probably the same in bounce games - due to injury, being fed up with it etc.

back playing again now though and enjoying it again.

still, it looks like it's cost me... £30 a round :(

not good. not the clubs fault though as i've missed three months with the back injury and holiday

£170 a year and £2 per round on top. Play at least twice a week so guessing a fiver.

£15, signed in by a member. Only been playing 6 months and only play once a month so cost me £90 so far. A friend of mine has payed £1200 over the last 2 years to be a member at the club I play at and has only played 2 and a half rounds.
Probably going to take the winter package this year, £150 for 10 rounds between november and march which is deducted from total if full membership is taken.

too much, if I think about it. I don't keep a tally but probably £50 per round, although probably more this year!!! Hard to justify in these hard times..But, on the other hand, time is precious, I am fussy and I love the course and club - I could not justify it on course alone.

I went up from 5 to 7-day membership this year, but that hasn't proved a worthwhile exercise as I haven't got out as much midweek let alone weekends.

to date just under £15/round which I could have matched just paying twilight fees, so not that good.

last year, off the 5-day rate, I got it down to under £5/round
