Just been on HDID to see the monthly medal results.
one chap had a really good round going but he had an 11[eleven] and a 9 [nine] to put him one over h/cap for the round .
but what really got me grinning was that one of our guys had an 18 [eighteen]
yep a bloody great 18 on one hole .
and he got a h/cap cut ..well played i say.

I was going great today until I had a 9 on our 15th (by no means my highest score) played the last 3 in 1 over, still managed net 72 CSS was 72 & I was leading when I left & should still get a small cut.........frustrating to say the least.

Once you get above a net double bogey it doesn't matter the score, it can be 7 or 17. It will make no difference to getting a handicap cut

You know what I was talking to a PP week before last in a medal we were playing in and I said same thing to him re net double bogey, and he said summat along the lines of " thats the same as those two things in your underpants". In essence he said " A 17 is a 17 and you won't get a cut".

Without getting techy about this 18 strokes stand and all count for the purpose of the stroke play medal, however for handicapping purposes it becomes a net double bogey so for example if player shoots net 75 (lncluding 18) and CSS is 71, assuming a par 5 that player receives a stroke on the 18 comes down to a 8, meaning his net score is reduced by 10 shots = net 65, 6 under CSS = huge cut. Hope this makes sense.

It certainly does to me Kenny and that's what I was trying to say to him.

Of course you can, just NR on that hole and you can still get a handicap cut. Lets face it, if you have an 18 on your card you won't be winning anyway.

Yes but as has been mentioned you can still get a cut but with NR your out.
