I got cut 0.4 after last weeks mid week medal which takes me down to 8 after a round which included a quadruple and two doubles and then 1 over for the other 15, stupid game.
So in essence a 17 or NR is the same score = double bogey.
For handicap purposes Yup. If you have basically wiped out on a hole during a medal beat to simply NR and continue as if you are playing stableford for the rest of the round. Could still buffer or get cut but won't be holding up play to return a stuiply high score.
Why on earth would you of putted out for an 18? I'd of picked up long before then.
Because it was a Medal of course! Stableford is much more sensible for average club golfers.![]()
Pretty certain you can still pick up in a medal!
Not if you want to win it you can't! However you can put in a card for handicap with one or more N/R's in it.
So why does no-one ever tell this to new players? Would help speed up medal play.
How many medals have you won with an 18 on your card!
I know somebody who came 2nd in a Medal with a 13 on his card. After that was rounded down to a nett double bogey, he also got a substantial handicap cut!![]()
