..... Do we have to hear, "the officials got it wrong" before they give them some help!
As a Newcastle fan, yes I know we have been awful, I have heard far too many times this season that the official has made an error, and it happened again tonight with aguero being two yards offside, was a shocking decision.
The game has moved on, is much faster and we have tech that is fantastic, please can we give the officials some help, they obviously need it.

It really doesn't though, in this game maybe, but over the last 2 seasons we have been awarded 3 penalties in total, we had 4 stone wall penalties not given in a run of four or five games at the end of last season so no it doesn't even out.
My point is not regarding Newcastle, it is my opinion that as the game speeds up, give the officials help, the job they have is hard and too many mistakes are being made now in my opinion.

The penalty in this game I have seen some given and some not, but the offside was a glaring error that really should have been avoided.

But uefa have already introduced even more officials but these have been worse than chocolate tea pots and not seen one give a decision or help the ref out in any way or form. Refs do need help but how do you do that when the ball is live? If a goal scored how quick would it be to get those TV images with the line showing who the last man was up to the 4th official to confirm it was a legitimate goal.

Human error will always be part of it especially on fouls and penalties but offside is a matter of fact and something that could be addressed

The penalty that wasn't given a few minutes ago?

They even out in the end.

That's NOT an argument. EVERY other top sport had video evidence to call on. It's well past the time that football had this in use. It will stop the possibility of refs being called (grossly unfairly) for their actions.

As is the ball being out of play, yet not spotted and a host of other things that could be checked. Managers could have the ability to have one call per half to be checked like NFL or Tennis

Actually it IS. There will always be an element of human error and input into sports - it's part of the beauty of it. Personally I think rugby as a spectacle has been somewhat ruined by the constant referral to the TMO. Referees use it to avoid making mistakes, sure, but then use it far too much. Perhaps we should also have a lie detector rigged up to every player to decide whether it's simulation or genuine...best also allow an extra hour for every game whilst decisions are checked and checked again.

For me, using video evidence has to be limited, but thing that take no time to call, offsides for example can be replicated in seconds by tech, we have goal line tech, so why not offsides? possibly moving forward then incorporate if the ball is in the field of play such as crossing from the byline, where a goal is scored. I am not suggesting we use this all the time, but to cancel out huge errors, mostly where goals are scored

Having been to a RU game where one half took just shy of 1hr to complete due to tedious/lengthy video reviews I am not really in favour of adopting same for footie..

What made it worse was one of the incidents was a clear red card to everyone else except the ref who bottled it despite looking at it at least half a dozen times...

Not it's not. There are ways and means to check these things and cheating players who are a disgrace to themselves and the sport. I do not, and don't, go to watch such rubbish. Fifty notes to watch a load of cheats fall about trying to get one over on each other. I would much rather the ref get the decision correct, a la NFL, then have a game ruined by cheating and incorrect decisions when there is the means to prevent this.
