How many putters have you ever owned?
How many do you currently own, and do you swap between them?

I personally can't think of anything worse than frequently changing putter but many do.

In 20 years, I've owned 3.
Cheap £25 one as a beginner.
Got a proper quality one when I started to get keen.
Only changed that to current one when the insert fell out of old one.

Note that anyone admitting to owning more than a dozen "active" putters will be directed to Putters Anonymous support group

2 owned currently.
Probably around 15 since I started 20-odd years ago..virtually all have been face balanced mallets..

I've just (last week) acquired a new one (Versa) having used a Spider Rossa for about the last 15 years. otoh I have at least 10 in the shed...

I will give the Versa a fair chance over the rest of the year; despite the lack of alignment marks it's much easier to my eye over the shorter putts.

However, you can't get away from putting being a sadly neglected area of most handicap golfers play (with the exception of putter purchases of course!)

Probably half a dozen in the last 20 years or so. Had the current one over a year and don't see any need to change again.

Had a cheap putter that came with my first set of clubs and used it for 10 years when I played with my Dad twice a year (if that!).

Bought a decent set of irons and an Odyssey putter when I first started to take it seriously a year or so ago. Didn't like the Odyssey so I returned it and picked up a Yes! Sandy 12. Used that since.

So...3.

I can win this hands down! Currently own 1, only ever 1 at a time. But in the last 2 years I've had 20+ putters.

I own 3 at the moment, don't use 2 of them though as it only brought them as I like them. Probably only owned around 7-8 in total.

Each to their own, but how are you even close to knowing you have the best putter for you?

Are you a good putter? Or just putting up with what you have?

Personally like to experiment a lot, seems to work for me as I tend to average close to 30 putts a round in comp golf over the last few years, expect not many who criticise me changing putters can say the same

And how can you be so critical of something you've never tried?

Could be close between you and Fundy.....!

Not had that many in the last 2 years. Id guess IVe had about 15 different ones in the last 5 years or so, albeit 2 of them have been in the bag for 95% of that time, the others just "auuditioning". Personally find it easier to buy a putter, try it out on the course for real a few times then move it on if not working.

Currently have the new Ping on trial (initial signs are very positive), the Scotty as fallback as ever and a couple that need to be moved on that failed their trials lol

That said its only putters I swap. Last 5 years Ive switched Driver once, 3 Wood once, had the same hybrid, and switched irons and wedges once.

Might actually move on my other 2. I have a Scotty del mar and a Ping Anser 3. If anyone fancies either message me and I'll get some pics up.

I'll admit to currently owning 14; 7 variants of Heavy putters in various guises and weights, 3 Bobby Grace, 2 Yes, a Tour Edge Hovercraft and a Momentus training putter that has a face about 1/4 of an inch wide.

The only one that has been used regularly since I found it is the Yes Victoria 2 with the Stealex weighted shaft and a Winn 1.18 grip.

I have only ever had 2! A bargain bin £10 special when I first started,

Then my odyssey two ball (clone) which I still use, one of the two ball discs have fallen out!!!

Keep meaning to buy a new one, maybe this year?

Had a box set special when first started, then my sabre tooth which I've had for ages and a couple of weeks ago splashed out on the versa #1. So 3 in total and still have two!

Owned 3 since I started in 2011 and currently got two of them "on rotation"

Got an Odyssey Backstryke 2 Ball for quick greens and a Scotty Cameron Futura X for when the greens are a bit slower (or basically the greens at my home course which are pretty slow just now!)

One of my friends has a 5 axis CNC machine and all the CAD gubbings that goes along with it and I fancy working with him to design and manufacture my own putter one day!

Ah, my specialist subject...

I reckon easily 20 over the last 3 years, could well be a lot more!

Currently got 4, actually quite settled now so will be selling at least 2 of them (Mizuno MP and Rife Barbados if anyone's interested...)

I like trying different styles, putters definitely my weakness.
