Quite a lot of us.

:D :D

The unhappy ones are those who bought a smart phone because for some reason they wanted one, found that they could get something on it that acted as a DMD, then found out that it may not be legal for competition use, then bleat on about it not being fair blah, blah, blah. If they had bought the phone to act as a DMD in the first place, then more fool them. If they want a legal DMD, then buy one.

Sorry. I've not had a good day. Nursey has restricted my medication :( :(

:p :p

I use mine all the time, I've only got a 2.5 but was thinking of getting an SGX in the near future.

I track all of my stats but only during the proper golfing season (from our first to last medals) as winter golf doesn't count for anything in my eyes. The course is short and temp greens can mess up your putting stats etc.

I almost feel lost without it.

Had the SC2.5 for a couple of years now and I use it all the time. Recently got a laser as well and tried that yesterday for the first time. It takes a bit of getting used to but I found I could get all the distances I needed. There's not many areas on my course where I don't have line of sight so the laser may end up getting more use than the SC. But the SC will be useful for new courses with dog-legs.

Note to self: leftie got out the wrong side of the bed.

I use it on the smart phone, but as leftie pointed out it's not legal in comps, which gets right on my tits as effectively the smart phone is only running a software program. But it's been done again and again abd once more

I'm one of leftie's mobile phone GPS users. I dont use it all the time and haven't used it in a comp yet. Despite my club ruling that they can be used in a comp.

I've been trying to do what I did a few years ago and just use the course yardages to get around. I don't really miss my GPS.
On an unfamiliar course I'd use it because of the unknown and don't know the accuracy of the yardage markers. Some courses are crap with yardage markers and are way off distance.

I don't have a mobile but am thinking about one with GPS. I want one that can port over to my laptop software.

However, contrary to the above, I think it is a good idea to keep stats for the whole year. What I do is create a new set of tees for spring and autumn in my software for each year, eg Cumberwell: White - Spring 2011. So it is easy to separate out the statistics, or combine them all together.

It is quite useful to see. Oddly enough my putting average is better in Spring and Autumn. I guess I am not as good on faster/dryer greens.

Only played one round in the last few years when I didnt use a rangefinder, and that was a European tour run event qualifier when they arent allowed. Wouldnt use a GPS if someone offered to pay me to use it, well, unless it was worth it :)

Intresting......Ive read abit about these Garmin watch things in the press but never seen one or spoken to anyone thats got one. Thinking of getting a gps this summer and thought you couldnt go past the Skycaddie range but maybe worth some further research into the Garmin.
btw- ive used the iphone with golfshot app for the past year, not only does it drain my phone battery its a pain keeping it dry when its pissing down.
