Amazingly the course hasn't been completely shut yet....both 9's have been shut on occasions but the other 9 has always stayed open on full greens..
That might change tomorrow with the amount of rain we've had today...

My fault, had planned to get out for a few holes for the first time in weeks tomorrow, expect both courses under water now

Ive been lucky as I havent missed a day of golf yet but the course has been closed 4 days so far from New years day. We have been on full greens and still on the Tee's, no mats this year....yet.

And verily - the 17th day of the month of January the year of the Lord 2014 dost be upon us, and dawn breaketh and the sun dost cometh up (someone behind the clouds) and the rains poureth down on Surrey - the land of @Hogan out of Glasgow - and the prophet Carol daughter of Michael son of Jack dost foresee further rain for the remainder of days :(

And Peter - keeper of the sward of the land of golf of Farnham doth gaze upon the woods of Surrey and proclaims - Lord - this is neverendeth - must I fell the trees and build an ark for the poor sods of the tribe of Farnham who in times past did swing the club?

Make that 2, looks like the front nine has now succumbed to the constant barrage of rain today.

It's stopped now - was absolutely torrential earlier - and not just for 5mins. Bit of blue sky up there but not to last I hear - much more on the way. And I've just checked - and we are closed. Not looking good for the weekend.

We're open - God alone knows how but we're fully open!
Looks a niceish day - and I can't play as some Numpty piled into the back of the car last night and I'm at home awaiting the Garage to collect it and bring a replacement.........Peasents!!!!!

Not sure you'll be missing much, must be very wet out there. We're closed for the day and likely to be again tomorrow it seems

To be honest I'd rather the course was closed until it has dried out a good bit. Any play at the moment is going to cause damage that will cause damage lasting months and into the 'playing' season. I miss my golf - but I want course to be in best condition April through September - and having it churned up during the winter months just is not going to help in that.

Spoke to one of the Greenkeepers this morning( he was driving the car last night) and he says that apart from a couple of puddles most of the course is extremely playable.
Fragger was out this morning and reckons it wasn't too bad....surprising.....

that is good news! thanks for the update

Closed until Monday - we will review then. Steward reckons most members fully supportive of course being closed as it there is pretty bad flooding in places and saturated where it is not. Ntice up that some bunkers have been declared GUR due to flooding - player must take full relief - all others not so marked have to be played according to rules - regardless of degree of flooding. Which will be good once we can play again.

too many, the course has resembled a small lake at times, now down to a few large puddles but i'm not holding my breath as the river running through the course is still high

Was just reading my clubs weekly news letter and there is a piece from the greenskeeper.

In short, he says that our course has had 128mm of rain in january, this is double the average for jan, but there are 2 weeks of the month left!!!!
