I play with the same 4 people fairly regularly (obviously not at the same time) and only one of us has ever had a hole in 1. Now 2 have only been playing about 3 year, but me and another mate have been playing for 15 years ish and neither of us have had and ace. However, my dad, the greedy git, has had 5!!!!!!!!

I've been very close on several occasions but just think it's one of them things that's destined to never happen to me. I was talking about this at the weekend during a round with 2 other noneinoners and got me thinking I wonder how many ammatures get multiple holes in on like my old man.

So the question is how many have you had and how long have you been playing?

Been playing aprox 15 years and had 1 and have never been closer than a boomhandle putter away from anymore. But I will always be happy that I have had one.

I've left a pitchmark in the side of the hole twice (same hole both times) and have had countless tap in 2's. I've even been within about a foot on a par 4. But I've not been "very" close for a long long time.

It amazes me how many times I stand on a par 3 though and think, I'm going to hole this :-) despite that nagging feeling that, realistically, I don't think it'll ever happen.

Been playing about 4 years and had 1 and a few "it's in" near misses!

Our Lady Captain had 3 last year which is just plain greedy but then she deserved them for all her efforts.

In our group of 6, we have seen 2 in the last 18 months. First one was a thinned 8 iron to the 8th hole, player was cussing it all the way then it pinged the flag and dropped in :)

Second dropped 3 feet behind the hole spun back and ricochet'd off another players ball into the hole.

So we have 2, both in lucky circumstances. Can you tell I have not had one?? lol

Had 2 in 12 years of playing... both on the same hole aswell but about 2 years apart.
You cant see where the cup is cut from the tee so had no idea till i walked up.

The second was a fluke as it was a push that came good off the slope of a bunker :)

I have had 3, but a mate of mine at the club has had 15. I need another one to match my Dad, who has managed to get 4. Can't have him win that, so I need another at least.

Iv never had one, in fact i was featured as a forum member in one of last years magazines stating my desire to have one last year but nothing happened.. did get it close once or twice... BUT my heart was in my mouth in a recent pairs match at my club, where i stated before playing the 6th hole at Pyle & Kenfig that id try hit it over the pin and hopefully with the wind and the slope in my favour id spin it back to the hole.... well the 6 iron was hit perfectly went over the pin pitched spun (which the wind i guess aided as it was in my face) and dribbled the ball back to the hole .....only for it to lip out and come to rest directly in front of the hole on the lip.... gutted was not the word .. but it was a hell of a shot to call :-)

Had 1 in 41 years, and been a single figure h'capper for 30-odd years. Mate has never been lower than 14, doesn't hit it very far but is very straight - he's had 6, 5 of which have been in competition. Hate him!

no where near, lol i happy if i find the green on a par 3 lol

the best looking chance i had was at carden park on the cheshire course i hit a 8 iron arrow strait, heading strait at the flag, it looked fantastic, only prob was i was a club to short, it landed in at least a 4ft high walled bunker, was gutted

I have had MANY, lost count...

...playing Crazy golf :D Usually get 2-3 per 18 holes on that.

Had a couple on pitch and putt (30 yards ish) but never on a full course

Not long been playing only really had one that looked close and left me a tap in But my brother has had 2 and he has only been playing 6 months!!! lol

None. Nada. Nil. Nowt. And I have played golf for nearly 30 years, sometimes at a fair standard of play too.

That said, I have had an albatross and have holed several shots from the fairway. None of which makes up for the fact that I am an hole in one virgin.

0.

Been playing for 7-8 years now and not had one.

My friend on Friday nearly had one, was playing the 4th and he struck a 9 iron, the ball clattered the flag from above, dropped down and it rolled out about 12ft!

i havent had any :( though last for 3 rounds in a row one of our fourball (different each time) had a hole in one wasn't a little bit bitter at all :P
