How far is your course

The sequence of courses I've been a member of goes like this...

35 mins > 30 mins > 12 mins > 8 mins...... and currently 3 mins!!

Perfik should I fancy a bit of putting for 20 mins, (which unfortunately I don't and subseqently play crap)

Just wondering how far people travel to their home course.

Mine is about 20 mins drive but if I'm trying to play after work the journey can easily double.

There are quite a few courses closer to me however they tend to close in the bad weather whereas mine was fully open today.

I'm thinking of leaving next season as the fee's have gone up and they're removing 2 of the holes but I don't know weather to join one of the closer courses or try somewhere further afield.

What would you do and how far do you travel currently?

Is it Whickham your at richy?

How much is it gonna be there next season/where your at?

Swayed by the membership costs and duration, Peebles is around a 40-50 min drive, depending on traffic. Costs less than half what I would pay for membership within the city of Edinburgh although the saving is offset somewhat by petrol expense.

It helps that my mother-in-law has a caravan that is nearby though, so I can always kip over and was another reason for joining. :)

14 miles away or 22 mins early Sat/Sun morning. On way home from work I just go whatever way from where Ive been working and continue booking time until I get there.

I don't know yet, could be anything from 30 minutes to as low as 6 minutes, depending on which flat I rent and which City I end up in :(

Not counting traffic either :(

14 miles

Probably have around 10 courses nearer but it's worth the travel

I travel 13 1/2 miles as the crow flies, but its nearer 18 miles, takes about 30 minutes

I drive about 35 minutes. It is quite far, but I dont really mind as i love the atmosphere at the club (you can always get a game with somebody) and my brother and a couple of friends play there as well. All good really.

15 miles for me about 20 mins first thing in the morning, there are 4 closer courses but with restricted times when i wish to play most so the travel is a minor compromise to play more.

My home course is 18 miles away, takes about half an hour to drive to, but well worth it.

I'm also a member of another club thats 35 miles further north that takes 40 mins to get to at the speed limit;)
Used to play all my golf there before joining my current home club, not somewhere to just pop out for a few holes though.

One of my mates is a member at Royal Dornoch which is a good hour each way and he playes every weekend and once during the week.
