How does your Club treat Competition B/Ball cards with current H/caps missing?

As many folk find the correct scoring of these quite difficult, for some reason or other.... perhaps because they don't get to play many.
How lenient is your Club?
Is it OK to have the 90% shots claimed but no player's current H/cap on the card? ….. obviously all the gross scores against the player making them etc etc
Is this a pure 'Admin issue' so it could be considered to be very unreasonable to DQ as the player is seeking no advantage & the card is otherwise correct.

Opinions please

If it’s a HC Comp and the playing HCs of each player aren’t visible on the card then it’s a DQ

It's not a matter of opinion:

Rule 6-2b
In any round of a handicap competition, the competitor must ensure that his handicap is recorded on his score card before it is returned to the Committee. If no handicap is recorded on his score card before it is returned (Rule 6-6b), or if the recorded handicap is higher than that to which he is entitled and this affects the number of strokes received, he is disqualified from the handicap competition; otherwise, the score stands.

As an a side played in a 4BBB Mixed medal yesterday and the winners were 11 under. I mentioned to our Match chairman that as the girl was on the card 13 times , they'd be using that card for the Annual review then , to which he replied " No, we don't use them " By reading the guidelines from England golf I'm understanding that is wrong ? And they should be used as additional evidence ?

She has played just one qualifier this season as I can see.

The main point is that it is 'additional evidence' if by the end of the season she has just played the minimum number of comps to retain completion status the I would say that their is insufficient evidence for any handicap adjustment.

If it happened it in several comps a year that might be different.

You are right in that the club should be keeping a note of the cards for the annual review.

What I personally do is the look at the players handicap record when the card is received and if they play a fair number of individual comps with qualifying scores I would not use it anyway.

It depends on the individual case.
Goodly number of qualifiers - ignore 4BBB unless many high scores.
Few qualifiers, many high scoring BB - think hard.
Few qualifiers, few BB - no action.

By doing some cross referencing the two groups that thentwo best scores have played a total of 5 qualifiers between them all season . Do supplementary's count towards keeping you C status ?

It depends. No for Cat 1 players with a limited exemption for players who need some at the end of the season to keep their status. Yes for other categories.

For the benefit of those who play in Scotland, Category 1 players with handicaps between 2.5 and 5.4 are allowed to return supplementary scores at any time, but only at their Home Club.

So are you saying that at your Club, it would be acceptable to have just the ‘strokes received’ on the card without their current H/cap? We are required to ‘fill out’ our own cards for all Comps... never presented with a Card for the Comp

You make me feel guilty - I'm not that far on in studying the revised rules. And I'm being thick. How can not putting your handicap on a card affect the strokes you get in any way. If a card has no handicap on it, the scorer has no handicap to apply and can't process the card.

No handicap is necessary on a non-qualifying gross competition card.

Ok. And if I do not put my handicap on a handicap competition card it inevitably affects the number of strokes I get and so I am disqualified? The only reason for the (to me) odd wording is to let you off the need to put your handicap in if it's a gross competition?
