How does your club stop the peasants from getting in?

We normally have Jeeve's hiding in the woods on the course where the course borders some open fields. If any undesireables manage to gain access,Jeeves will apprehend the bounders and give them a damn good thrashing. :D

Have to say I’m surprised there hasn't be a single answer along the lines of... 'Interview with the committee, £1000 annual sub and the same again as a joining fee'

Being on Wimbledon Common, we have dog walkers, runners and horse riders all over the place!

The public get right of way, so on occassion you can wait up to 10 mins to t-off because there are runners running across the track in the middle of the fairway.

It can and does add to the round time, but I dont get overly worked up by it, I mean, whats the point!? Youre out for some fresh air and fun.

lots of public right of ways, means a lot of dog walkers which imo are the worst, dogs running and carrying off the ball you just put in the fairway, dogs running mental in the bunkers and over greens

Our course is bordered by a road, farmers fields, a train line, and the lake we're named after.
I've never seen anyone on the course that shouldn't be there.

North Shore in Skegness has a novel solution. They have a public path through the course but it's flanked on either side by a 10' ish mound so it's always safe to hit.

The pheasants are in a field to the left of the 15th fairway.
and the gooses (geese?).....
Separated by a fence and a hedge...

I nasty pull with a 3 wood will see them directly in the firing line. :)

Jezster, my record wait for the waifs and strays (deliberately dawdling as they know they have right of way) is 16 minutes for a three ball to tee off on the 12th.

We have security gates at the front of the club although they are easily bypassed on foot via the practice ground and it's surrounded by Crown land. We never have any problem with anyone coming onto the course although we do get a few thinking the practice ground is free to use for anyone. I guess from that perspective we are pretty lucky in that we have no kids nicking balls, idiots jumping on without paying etc.

My place did a bloody good job of keeping peasants off the course.

I then organised a GM forum meet.

My club hasn't been the same since........ :o

...and since then the Pro shop has been replaced with a tattoo parlour!

Several footpaths through mine - a few hedgerows and fences where there isn't but we get loads of interlopers walking their dogs - ie looking for balls.

Our course is 2 miles in off a secondary country road which only feeds a small village about 4 miles from the club and another larger village about 8 miles in the other direction....

Its well off the beaten track..
It does have holiday homes on site though that are pretty busy all year round.

But the operate a pay and play scheme whereby visitors need not book in advance for a round..
Which i think is pretty neat.
They always seem to accommodate them except on Sunday for competition round..

Its also smack bang wallop in the middle of at least 18 lakes which are full of coarse fish and an anglers dream.
Most within a 20-30 minute radius of the holiday homes
