How Did We Get On

If we're doing post-mortems....I managed this ugly concoction.

3 pushes

2 draws

14 straight ones

10 pulls

5 slices

2 thinned

I thought I was going to get a decent cut last week but it wasn't h'cap qualifying because we played off the yellows.

That really annoys me
If the course has been measured for a SSS off the yellows, why can't you get cut off the yellows

Good for you Bob. It annoys me too.

Especially since one of my h'cap qualifying cards was off the yellows. I got told it was fine, just indicate on the card which tees were used.

If you think that's annoying on its own, imagine how I feel.

Because I only started playing again a few months ago and took a while to get my handicap because I didn't know anyone, I've only played 2 qualifying comps (I actually booked a day off work to play in one, but couldn't get a game because I'm not the sort of person to go and ask everyone who comes into the car park).

Thanks to a rule which stops people only playing in non-qualifying comps to protect their handicap, I'm not eligible to win anything until I've played in 3.

I personally couldn't give a flying one about winning prizes, but most of the comps over the winter are team or pairs so my partners also couldn't win, which makes entering them a non-starter for me.

Here I am, just got back into it, keen as mustard, and am pretty much excluded from anything until about March next year, which is coincidentally when subs are due.

I would complain bitterly and endlessly to your club until they gave in and gave you a proper handicap and let you enter all the winter comps.
Either that or threaten to write to the local paper and tell them what your club is doing to encourage new members

I've got a proper handicap and am allowed in the comps. I'm just not allowed to win anything yet which would be unfair on people I teamed up with.

I'm not the sort of person to complain much. I asked if anything could be done and although every person that's heard about it says it's unfair, they say there's no way round it.

I'm more the sort of person to say nothing more and go join somewhere else. I must have getting on for 10 clubs within half an hours drive of me.

So you've now got until March next year to try out all those clubs Region3 :)
After reading what you've said about the club I think I'd be tempted to try elsewhere. :)

Golfmmad.

Played some pretty average stuff today but needed pars on 17 and 18 for 36 points. Doubled them both from the middle of the fairways...oh well thats golf

I'll tell you tomorrow. :)

So will I.
Medal.
Hoping to break 80
;)

Pile of crap.
Didn't even break 80 net!
Gross 93, net 81.
Couldn't hit the bloody ball for love nor money.
Two ugly 8's on my card and from the scores in so far the only ones below me are the N/R's.
:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Bloody nippy too first thing. Really chilly and there was a layer of ice on the rubbish bins that are by each tee. Turned out a lovely day once the sun came up, short sleeves in October!!

Played in a fourball better ball on sat with a partner who played off 20 we managed 45points i had 4 birdies and was on the card 12 times i always finish the holes just as a matter of interest shot a gross 73.

I scored my 2nd consecutive 5 over par round.
Both were in friendly games off yellows but my swing changes are really paying off now the season is over .

I hit 14 greens in regulation, had 3 birdies and generally played well :D.
However I took 38 putts :Dfor the round which I will have to work on. My only excuse is that the greens are covered in aeration holes in prep' for winter ;).
