How confident are you from 50 yds?

You are 50yds from the flag on a flat hole with a flat green with plenty of green to work with.
The green is neither firm nor soft and there is no wind/bunkers/trees/ponds etc to contend with.
How many balls out of 10 would you expect to get within 6ft ?

If I were to take 10 practise shots to a pin from 50 yards, i'd hope to get 3 or 4 within 6 foot.

The dispersion on the rest would be comical i'd have thought!

That is a half 52*, in my last practice session I got about 4 out of 25 within a foot, maybe 8 within 4.

Getting up and down is what helps me score well when I miss greens. I could not have shot a lot of recent good rounds without it.

Id say in very confident from this range. First thing would be decide what type of shot to play as if there is nothing to go over id be happy playing a bump and run, but if there are hazards then its a 54* or 60* wedge. Either way I'd expect 4/10 to get within 6foot and the remaining 6/10 to be no more than 10-15feet away.

accuracy with my short irons and wedges has always been my strong point and now the putting is coming together i think there's a good score in there somewhere.

Some days, all of them. Some days, half of them, and on a numpty day I might even miss the green with the odd one.

Put 10 balls down and hit them one after the other?? I'd like to see at least 4 inside 6'

One go at it during a round on 10 different holes?? Probably 1

4% of distance .. That's pretty accurate, not many pros manage that ?
I'd be confident of getting circa 8 at about 10 to 20 feet, with a few of those quite close
Which is why I still play for a point between the middle of the green and the hole

Id expect to get at least a couple inside 6ft and the rest within 15ft-20ft. Worst case hit the green and 2 putt.

This for me....

As with all these type of questions the biggest factor is how well you're playing.
On Monday I'd probably have scored 8/10; yesterday maybe 2/10......

Although I think its the strongest part of my game ;)

Not many/any. I'd be happy if I was putting with my next shot on all 10 balls.
I think many people grossly over estimate their ability to stick it close from this sort of range, particularly mid/high handicappers.
The PGA tour stats on proximity to hole are enlightening.

Indeed, 6 feet is a very small area from 50 yards. 6 yards is a decent result if I'm honest.

Looking at the PGA Tour Stats, the top player in proximity to hole from 20-30 yds has an average of 6 1/2 feet and for shots over 30yds is 8 feet.

PGA tour is a lot different though isn't it. The greens would be much faster and likely you wont get many 50 yard shots like mentioned in the OP.

The way the situation is described in the OP you could easily bump and run 10 balls onto the green with no bother imo. Surely most people will fancy getting a couple pretty close?
