Hole in one

I was a member at Seaham many years ago (pre '96) and always thought it could be a pretty tough hole. With the equipment as it was back then it could play anything from an 8iron to a 2iron depending on the wind and a tiny green.

I actually saw someone else make a 1 there, someone playing in the group behind me while I was playing a team game.
Still just as bad😃

Always the bridesmaid never the bride sums my experiences up.

Have seen 4 all in my company and another oddity too.

Our 13th is a par 3 and the 16th green is adjacent to 13th green.

One of our 4-ball playing 13 cut it 20 yards right and it hit a path and rolled up a hill onto 16 where people were putting out. A kerfuffle broke out which we took to be remonstrations for his wayward shot, but no, not a bit of it.

They were whooping and hollering that he'd holed out his tee shot to 13 but on the 16th green!!!

When we got in we insisted that our man bought us all a beer, and the lads on 16 too, as technically he'd had a hole in one - well sort of 😜

I've had 6, saw 2 of them go in. Witnessed 3 from other people. Just after my parents got married my Dad's brother-in-law took him out for a game one day and my Dad had a hole in one. To this day that is the only round of golf he has ever played.

Years ago a guy who used to play at my club had 2 in the same round. He went double bogey, hole in one, double bogey, hole in one.

Yet according to some, there is no luck involved :D
